Good question but likely no - since ALL bikes are going out the door for full retail. If you walked in with perfect credit and also bought a bunch of other stuff, you might get some slack but I'm betting no luck. There's no motivation to lower prices unless unsold bikes are sitting on dealer showroom floors. At least in So CA, that doesn't seem to be the case. You might get a deal somewhere else but you'd be paying $800 to ship it out here. |

MSRP at the minimum. I wouldn't doubt if you'll start to see some dealers bumping the price up a grand or so because of demand. |

Try MSRP and all the associate extra fees. I can't see anyone discounting these bikes as there is probably someone in line to step up and buy it. Baggermike, what was the breakdown on your deal? Looks like you got $2,000 off...how the hell did you pull that off? |

Nice, Mike. I paid cash for mine and it was just under $13k. I would have paid 14k to get it in November, but it finally arrived 18DEC07. Loretta and I had a wonderful honeymoon. We had a couple of little arguments, but all is reconciled. She now has 927 miles and we are looking forward to Summer and Homecoming. Me and Loretta -

Hey guy's was not going to post this because I have probably made some people feel bad, I got the price by calling every dealership around and even went to the dealers and told them I had cash, my son lent me the money, Big Moose in Maine gave me this price by giving me a discount that was offered for other buells or something, the msrp is 12000 and gave me 500 off then there was the 200 set up fee, this dealership is awesome, and they have one in there show room as of monday when I went there to have the bike checked out, but I do not think he would be able to give the 500 off that I got because it was a special deal, but would give it to you for msrp, even the service department is really good, I forgot my keys there and went back on my sons uly late friday afternoon and asked if they could look at it for me and did, it was leaking oil from the rear cylinder head. I had bought the ulysses at Manchester HD Buell in New Hampshire then the oil pump broke and took them over two month to fix it, I had told them that it was my only way to get around and they jerked me around, plus they did not even fix it right and was leaking oil from the rear cylinder head and some other things they screwed up. I am warning everyone to stay away from that dealership, Manchester Buell lost me as a customer and was really unhappy of the way I was treated by them. My son and I are impressed by Big Moose HD Buell in Maine, and he plans to buy his next bike there. Mike |

Yes, I bought it in Maine were there is no sales tax but Massachusetts has 5% sales tax, so I was out the door at 11700. Mike |

Did you have to pay MA sales tax when you registered it? They knocked off freight and another 500 from msrp, and only charged you the 200 for setup? thats a pretty good deal, close to 1k in savings Im sure. |

yes I had to pay MA sales tax, I hate this state and is why people call it taxachusetts, I will be moving to N.C. when the time is right, I love those mountain roads. Mike |

Sorry to burst your bubble Mike, but we do have sales tax in Maine, 5%. I think you were able to get out of it as you live in MASS. I am glad to hear that you had a good experiance with Big Moose though. I have found them to be great so far. |

Hey Gearhead I was thinking it was like New Hampshire were my sister lives, they have no sales tax. How long have you been doing buisness with Big Moose, I find them really good guys, and steve gave me a really great deal that nobody else would, even Manchester New Hampshire HD would not give me a deal when I just bought the ulysses from them in june, and the bike was in the shop for over two month and I told them I needed the bike because I am a motorcycle only guy and it was a major inconvenence to me and they did not care. LOL im with you richieg i put my deposit on my bike on july 19th, 12,6 OTD well another dealer got one in earlier, about a month ago or so. i thought id go up and check it out, see it in person. i call ahead, make sure its there, and head up there. meet with the salesman i spoke with on the phone and i just sort of play dumb, listen to what he tells me etc. never tell him i already have one on order. so after a while i say 'how much' he tells me 12k, i say 'well thats msrp, how much OTD?' his reply - 14,5 1900 bucks more. rediculous |

I'm betting that those dealers asking those huge over-prices will also be the same dealers who totally bail out on you as a customer when you need service or support. No evidence, just a strong suspicion. |

that is why I had to get the dealer to lower the price because I figured if it need service I would be screwed , but so far this dealership in Maine Big Moose is very good and have some good people there, the dealer I bought the ulysses from in june screwed me and that was Manchester New Hampshire HD Buell and after buying the bike and it broke down they would not give me a good deal after buying a bike from them less than six month ago and took them over two month to fix my bike was totally bull I had told them something broke and they told me it was a clogged oil line and told them to cut it open and find out what is in the oil line and then you know what broke, and they would not take five minutes to cut the line open, total bull shit. Well, this is my take. I know I could get the 1125R for probably less at Ocala HD, but at Gainesville HD I have always been treated well. So, I may pay a tad more there, but due to service I have received in the past there I'm willing to buy it there. Besides, they'll sell it to my for $12,800 OTD. |

HD of Tucson has one sitting on the floor, they are asking(cough) $14,900. I guess they want to make sure it stays there for a while. |

I think we are comparing two different things here....OTD to the dealer is selling price, setup, freight, tax, title, licensing. For COMPARISON purposes here, we need to keep it to selling price, setup & freight. These are really the only variables that the deal has any control over (ie. possible areas of discount). Everything else is set by the powers that be. If we are looking for dealer "deals" or lack thereof, I don't think that the state "dictated" expenses should be included. Mine was $13,700 OTD dealer. $12,575 for comparison purposes. I paid EVERYTHING, unfortunately. |

I had some bad experiences with my last XB12Ss, so my dealership is giving me a heck of a deal, buying it outright this time too, since HD Financial screwed me. |

Well, part of it is my fault for having bad credit, but, I was a payment short, made the payment and next payment to be caught up. I had the payment taken electronically on payday, but my check got deposited late the same day somehow. I got a letter in the mail from HDFS saying "thank you" for the payment. A couple weeks later went out to the parking lot after work and my bike was gone. I thought some idiot had stolen a bike from a prison parking lot, but no, it had been reposessed. I called HDFS, they told me my payment bounced. I checked my account, and sure enough, my money was still in my account. They wouldn't let me have my bike back unless I payed off the balance of the loan. Now, I have to pay what's left on the loan, and have no bike. I had just had alot of work done on it too. HDFS sucks! |

WOW sorry that happend to you that is BS, I have them do automatic payments but they have no idea were the bike is if something happend, I let my insurance run out because it is safe were it is and I am not using it, I gave it to my son and he is going to pay the loan off in may, so then we will not have to have full coverage on the bikes, insurance is very expensive in Massachussetts. Thanks for the heads up. Mike |
