From another post. Anyone ever had this problem. Bike is a 99 X-1. I thought I was the only one to do something like that. Last night I did the same thing. Pulled away while turning so I was rolling right along when I realized the lock was on. My sore arm, hand and knee will heal but I need a few replacement parts for the X-1. OUCH!! Anyway now I can't get the steering lock off. I put the key in to unlock it and the key turned halfway and stuck. The fork is no longer locked but I can't get the key out. Any suggestions. Thanks, Dave |

Im in a similar situation, ive recently taken my S1 apart and powdercoated the frame. Several years back.. I broke the key off in the lock. Ive purchased the new lock... but havent a clue how to get the old lock out of the frame. Any help would be greatly apreciated. |

Don't know if this applies, but on my '97 M2 there is a very small allen set screw that pins the lock to the steering head. I used a lot of penetrating oil and a torch to get it out. |

It's been a very long time, but, on my '97 S1 I drilled the lock cylinder out. I replaced the entire lock assy instead of re-keying it..... |
