Gootch was right. Eric Buell did indeed make a guest appearance at the Deeley House of Buell and again in Whistler for the fun evening of dinner and social libations. It was a real honor to meet/chat with the creator of all things (two wheeled) wonderful. Grateful I was invited to attend the BRAG festivities as I was unable to free up enough time to do the full distance, to Calgary. Hope all went well for the fortunate ones that did the ride, I'm sure it was a memorable trip. Cheers FunJimmy |

Harv, I'm doing my best to get the info down and have the photos available, but I've been busy since the moment I got home. We did have a great time Rippin' up the Rockies! Marcel from BRAG did a brillant job of organizing the event. Thanks to Deeley's for the hosted dinner and the Kamloops dealer for the BBQ. The weather was fantastic up until race day in Calgary on Sunday. Then the rains came but didn't put a damper on our spirits. It was truly an honor to smooze with Erik Buell in Whistler. Isn't he a personable guy? Looking forward to riding the Rockies with him in the future, how bout you guys?!? Another treat was having the opportunity to meet and ride with Len Creed from Canadian Biker magazine. He's a great guy and sure looks good astride the V-Rod. My little Blast raised an eyebrow or two. Gawd it's great being the underdog, LOL. Anyhow, I'll have more details and pix soon. Adjusting to the home life again and with a weekend course coming up I'll do my best to upload everything soon. Ride on... Oh, btw LittleOne, who's yellow Blast have you been riding? What's happened with yours? Details... details?!

Additude, Sounds like you had a lot of fun. Also sounds like you shocked them with that bike of yours. you go girl. As for the yellow blast well that is a long story lets just say my lil' thumper is being renamed to Gizmo ( you know the lil' gremlin) It has a few problems with the gears and stuff. BUT the wonderful Kim, Stu and Dale have been taking good care of me and my bike. I should be getting it back soon. I didn't realize how much i missed my kerker till this past while ridding the yellow bike. |

Hi Mike, The truck crossing turns into 176th Street once you get into Canada. Go straight north on 176th until you go over a curving overpass, just over the overpass is Hwy 10 which is also called Langley By-Pass. Turn right (East) and continue for about 2 miles and you will come upon Fraser Highway. At that point you can see Willowbrook Shopping Center. The course was set up on the other side of the mall last time. Taylor and I will be out to cheer Cody on for sure. When will you be arriving in Langley? Harv

Well it's 9:30am here on the WET COAST. We're thinking about Mike and Cody racing in Langley. Eva has been sick and I didn't want her to be standing out in the rain, perhaps getting worse. But we are all sending good thoughts to Cody during his racing. (Hope it's not raining too much in Langley!)

Hey Harv- did you make it? If so post the results..... Mike hasn't called and he won't be home until late and I am dying to know how Cody did, since he actually had some competition in his own age group! Cody was really nervous last night about the race..... Kimberlie |

Cody and Mike, Sorry we couldn't make it out this time. I hope Cody did well. We had a softball tournament and made it to the finals which was very unusual for our team. We played 3 games on Saturday and 3 games today with only an hour break between and that didn't allow us to get away. We got killed in the final but came away with some $ and prizes for 2nd place in our division. At least the weather was better than last time you guys were up. Harv |

Well Cody and I made it home safely. Cody rode his heart out and finished first in his age class and finishing 3rd overall. The adults were schooled by Code Red and I think learned a valuable lesson about not crashing. The adults that crashed in the finals were on 9, 9.5 and 12hp machines. If you spot my kid half a lap in a 20 lap race chances are you will not catch him. Good stuff finishing 3rd out of 7. We are coming back to Langley on July 6th. My thought are to come up the day before and stay at a hotel near the mall. Anyone like to get together to talk and eat Saturday the 5th? Mike |

WTG, Code Red... That's awesome! Glad everything went well on your travels up here. How was the weather?? It was raining pretty hard here in Burnaby. Well, sounds like it didn't matter - you both had a great day. Yep Kimberlie - you are right. You've got a great and dedicated family! Mike, it would be great to get together with you for Saturday the 5th. Keep us posted and we'll try to keep our schedule free. I don't know Langley very well, so let me know which hotel you're staying at. Still got my card with the phone number on it? (btw, Eva was quite disappointed being sick and having to miss watching the race). Take care! |
