I just test rode the new 1125R here at a dealer in Dallas... WHAT AN ANIMAL!!! I was getting the front tire off the ground in 3rd gear! The gear box with the slipper clutch is soooo smooth, better than any other Jap. hyperbike I have ridden. I am now wondering what I have to sell to get one of my own... I GOT THE ITCH! |

I am really sorry you didn't read my other post in which I explained to Blake that if you don't want to get the fever you have to avoid direct contact with the 1125R at all costs (Sounds like it's too late.) You shoulda been warned! |

There is no vaccine or antibiotics for the 1125R fever either. All you can do to live with the symptoms is to ride it everyday. I am stuck with that burden for the rest of my life. |

Thinking of test riding next week. Wish it was warm weather though. Should be interesting, the particular salesman on the floor wasn't to enthused over the 1125R. He did want to add my name to his list of contacts for the Rocker whenever they show. I'll have to find the one I talked to in sept that was excited over them. Smooth shifting was it? That's a plus. I know it sits well. My knee fit fine into the frame. How's the 'quiet cockpit'? |

American Eagle in Corinth. All the salesman are real cool... no pressure. I was really suprised by the transmission (and how F***ING easy it was to get the front wheel of the ground in the first few gears!). Not really sure what you mean by the 'quiet cockpit'... but the bike it self did have a really good sound for stock exhaust and when you compare it to my fully stripped '02 X1, the wind noise is down quite a bit. But I did notice that the mirrors shake bad at highway speeds, like the plastic just wasn't sturdy. no big deal for me, i'm used to turning around to check the lane with my own two eyes... my bike has only one tiny mirror to remain legal. |

Quiet zone cockpit is buell's marketing name for what is supposed to be a calm envelope of air you get while at speed. Bummer about the mirrors. All too common anymore with most bikes. Either they vibrate and you can't see or can only see elbows. Think I'd have to ditch the Tivo mirrors for bar ends and put signals on the mount points. |

Today was my day to test ride. I got to follow Matt B. He was riding my ST1300 and doing his best to stick a knee out and slide a cheek off the seat (Ricky Racer at his best). My impression was: A) 2500-3000rpm required for take off. B) After that everything is just ..... fluid. It just pulls and pulls and my helmet kept on getting pushed back (I didn't even pay attention to the speedo, much less the tach! C) Handling is very neutral, very stable even more than my 12r. I LIKE IT A LOT! D) Brakes had not been bedded in but, now they are ;+). After some heat cycling they are effortless and very progressive. 2 light fingers on the front is major braking. E) Ergos are very comfortable even compared to my r with Heli bar and "s" pegs. I'll still want higher bars and "s" pegs though. F) More vibration through the bars than my ST1300, much less than my "r". Nothing objectionable and I've been told with more miles they get smoother (this demo bike had 170 miles). G) 1st time with a slipper clutch and it sure makes down shift a no brainer. I don't think about on my ST. On the 1125 I had to break my habit to abuse a few down shifts and no squawking of the back tire or anything objectionable. H) Tranny is snick, snick, snick velvet smooth. It didn't matter fast shift or slow shift just went from gear to gear no false neutrals anywhere. Overall she is built for the rider. The 1125 just kinda disappears when you are riding or, I just got assimilated by the 1125 Borg! Will I buy one?????? Yep, she is a MAJOR shift in the motorcycling industry and technology. The 1125r is a benchmark for other bikes in the class. She is built to ride and, ride every day not just a weekend jaunt here and there to play. An 1125r will be sitting in my garage in the next month. Anybody want a sweet XB12r? I can either trade it in or sell it to a wanting Buelligan.
