I have put about 4 miles on my 1125R since "Delivery". It's sitting at the dealer with a very bad lean surge / cylinder miss from about 2500 rpm to about 4000 rpm. Apparently Buell is closed for the holidays until next Wednesday, and the factory service manuals haven't his the streets yet. Also, there is no .pdf file for the dealers to use in the meantime. The dealer is stuck calling Buell Tech Services to get step by step troubleshooting guidance. To top it off, none of this dealers Buell techs have been to 1125 school. To say that I'm less than happy right now with my purchase is a minor understatement. I have a track weekend on the 4,5 & 6 of January, thank heavens I didn't trade in my Firebolt like I was planning on or I would be severely unhappy, as the track fees are unrefundable. |

Ours was overly sensitive to battery voltage. I have read where many have suffered the same. Being built possibly in early fall/late summer, and then started a few times as they are moved, batteries may be weak. Initially ours stalled and would not restart due to low battery. Rear plug was wet from flooding even though turn over rate sounded strong. We put a Tender on ours for a full day. Since then, we have snuck between snow falls to put about 16 break-in miles on and have not had a problem since. Suggestion: fully charge any newbie before starting it. When starting it, be ready to ride and go for a full warm-up heat cycle before shutting it off again. ~jammer |

Captnemo and Bobup, Do you both have the same problem? I do apologize for the issue; there are always little things that catch us on a new bike, but we surely are going to do our best to resolve them quickly. The dealers have not had in-depth training yet, and are supposed to contact the service group during the intial phase. It certainly could be a low battery or some other minor issue, but with anything new, the dealers do not have the confidence or experience to fix it quickly. They will be good at it very soon, but it is what it is today. It is the service group's job to cover for them during this initial phase. I will see what I can do to bring help over the holiday. Normally this is all handled by the Customer Service team at H-D, but they are off until January. It messes up the record keeping and detailed tracking not to go through them, but this is a special situation. Can you guys post a bit more regarding the issue, and the dealers involved? |

Anony.... Thanks for including me in your reply. NO, I do not have the SAME problem as CaptNemo. My problem is just getting my 1125R delivered to my dealer.....Livermore HD (Ca)....I was being a bit sarcastic in my reply above. If you can help me with just getting mine, GREAT! if not...I am still on edge waiting....LOL Thanks again Anony Bob |

Only problem ive had with mine is the toggle button on the instrument dash is not working which the dealer already has a brand new one waiting for me to bring it in to install along with my heated grips but i haven't been in much of a rush since its not being ridden till the snow/ice is gone but first warm day im ridding it down there to get it done. |

on topic i hope that you don't have any serious problems. as far as the Duc i loved the 1098 when it came out but stayed loyal with buell. i love the cherry bomb look. despite my screen name (wish i could change that) i have a 04 XB12S. that i could not be happier with and won't be selling it. i like the cherry bomb bolt as well as the pearl white. but its so close to what i've already got i feel like the new would be gone in no time. the 1125 is really cool mechanically but i can't get into them. don't care for the looks. The duc is more affordable the local dealer for Ducs are awesome. for me its no different then trying to get service or parts for my buell. once i got a few parts i established connections. the duc has the torque down low like the buell but keeps pulling up to 13 500 rpm. its great riding a bike thats not like everyone elses. i'm sure most of you can relate to that. the looks are great and the performance backs it up. true i can have a 1000 whatever but i've ridden and they do nothing for me. |

So far the only problem I have experienced is the same problem Bueller_bjorn is experiencing, toggle button does not work. The dealer looked at and said they would order the part as soon as the factory re-opens in January. To me the bike is outstanding! |

Anony, As described above, a surge or miss during very low throttle opening cruise. This is so bad that you can hear the gear train rattle as the gear lash is taken up during the firing impulse and released during the missed combustion cycle. During the riding that I did the engine died a couple of times as well. The bike is at Pensacola HD / Buell and the tech working on it is Kyle. They did get some computer diagnostic codes out of the ECM connected with the fuel pressure sensor, and there was talk of using the dyno to simulate the problem and allow datalogging. They have been very acomidating, but I would really like to get my bike home soon. . |

OK, I'll see who I can find to help advise the folks at Pensacola. My apologies again. |

Anony, Believe me, I appreciate the concern and the effort you are putting forth to try to get this resolved. Rocket and the rest of you guys that are participating in his pi$$ing contest, there's the Backfire section that is just perfect for this kind of trash talk. I'm usually the last one to complain on a web board, but Rocket, we're all growing a little weary of the constant bashing on Buell products. In the States, there's a saying: "If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all". We all( the first flite 1125R Owners ) knew the potential for problems on a first year bike, and there are a lot of us willing to take the chance on the 1125R. I'm just having some trouble out of the gate with mine. Anony has shown that BMC is willing to go well above and beyond to get the situation resolved in a timely manner. |

Coasting to a stop with the clutch disengaged, the bike shouldn't stall. |

will when i have riden the 1125r if you keep the rpm above 3500 it runs smoother. |

The issue occurs at very low throttle openings under cruise conditions. The tech that test rode the bike noticed it on his ride as well. . |

I appreciate you brave souls jumping into the pond feet first on a brand new model. Be sure to give as much information to the factory as possible so when I buy mine NEXT YEAR I'll have no problems at all. Thanks! |

No problems with mine except weather. Got 500 miles on it in the first week, then the snow started. Supposed to be above freezing soon tho and I'll be back out. Suspension was stiff "out of the box" but set according to Owners manual for weight and outside temp improved that, massively. Mine "rattles" when I'm lugging it, so I have an auditory alert. Definitely a different mill than HDs and other Buells. "Low end power" is now 3k+, not bad, just different. I have a feeling I'm going to have more issues with lugging than with bouncing off the revlimiter for a while. I'm very glad for the flat torque at 3k+. Not many things scare me more than a twitchy power band and ice/gravel and turns. Thanks for the watchful eye - Anony. Zack |

Our techs have been to school... My name is Jake. I'm the Buell guy here at Manchester Harley-Davidson/Buell. We just had 10 1125R's land. A few are sold already. Jake @ MHD. (Message edited by blake on December 28, 2007) |

"Problems" with new design motorcycles are common. The 2006-7 ZX-14 had weak low rpm torque. The 2006 FZ-1 had abrupt throttle response. The 1098 Duke has stalling problems. How many carbed bikes and injected bikes had lean symptoms due to EPA regulations? These problems have been solved with jet kits and Power Commanders, so this will no doubt be the case with the 1125R. In a few months there will be aftermarket airfilters, mufflers, Power Commanders, and a bunch of dyno tuned Buells making big power with a wide powerband. Something to look for ward to. Lean stumbles and stalling are different situations. Lean stumbles are an annoyance. People die from stalling in an intersection. |

I agree. Anyone tried raising the idle speed a couple hundred RPM? Dave |

Idle speed is dictated by ECM and not adjustable (according to Owners manual). Asbjorn |

BTW, I used to be factory tech for a propane and natural gas carburetion mfg. We had an idiotic system that was way over-engineered and never worked well. We did see accidents from drivers that stalled in an intersection while trying to turn left. Very bad stuff. We finally pulled all of those systems off the road and got rid of the ding-dong engineer that designed them. |

Idle speed is dictated by ECM Is it a stepper motor idle air system? That would be pretty cool! |
