Did you rebuild a stator!?! Wow! More info please! Did the old stator test OK when you pulled it? Or how had it failed? Start with the stator, but don't assume that just because it was broken, it was the only thing broken. A number of us have had cascading failures. Martin I would try a load test of the battery. Pull the starter, reconnect hit the starter button insure that it spins freely and the bendix throws the gear out. Disconnect stator from regulator and try starting the bike. An change in symptoms is a place to start. Generally the last think I touch is the first place I start. Joe |

Martin Glad to hear that you got it fixed. Thanks for letting us know the resolution. Get a voltmeter if you don't already have one. Get the voltage at the battery after it sits over night, get it at idle and check it at 3k rpm. This is not fix all but getting a feel for how it is charging and battery voltage will help.
