I liked it; some won't. Very good review here: http://www.scifi.com/sfw/screen/sfw17603.html BTW, any Badwebbers near New Orleans at the movies tonight? I heard (awesome!) and then saw a tuber leaving the parking lot as I was walking to my car. Nice bike! (Message edited by hughlysses on December 15, 2007) |

It's probably not as much of an "action" flic as some people are expecting. |

The story is really good at drawing you into the characters. It's a sign of a great movie, but many people don't want that degree of intimacy with the characters. |

Havent seen it but do remember the movie its a copy from......Omega Man. Charleton Heston and a bunch o goons. Made me shiver when I was a kid. He did have a decent bike scene in it as an escape vehicle. |

By the look of the beard, he's gettin' a little "old". I wish I was a ripped as he is as an "old guy". |

I have to say I thought it was quite cheezy. The only good part must when Will was driving the Stang' in the beginning. If you want to see a movie I recommend No Country for Old Men |

Did you know this is actually the third adaptation of this story? The first was called "the Last Man on Earth" and starred (of all people) Vincent Price. I was reading about it last night and it turns out this version is "in the public domain", so you can legally download a copy. Review of this version here: http://www.scifi.com/sfw/issue90/classic.html (they give it a C+) Download it here: http://www.archive.org/details/the-last-man-on-ear th Looks like it's gonna be a cold, cloudy Sunday here. I think I'll give it a watch today. (Message edited by hughlysses on December 16, 2007) |

just went to see it with my son. Liked it. It was as good as the second version of this story "omega man" with out all the cursing and sex. i would give a thumbs up to "no country for old men" i also liked it, but in a different way. Not as gory as i thought it would be. |

Was it true to the book it was based on? |

See the review link I posted to Scifi Weekly above. They pretty much say it is closer in spirit to the book than either of the other adaptations, but not necessarily in detail. I watched Vincent Price in "Last Man on Earth" this afternoon (also see link above, the first movie adaptation of the book). I'd say it's the closest in detail to the book of any of the three movies. It's pretty cheesy, but it does have a few redeeming qualities. |

Just got back. It was good. I was hoping for a bit more, but it was decent entertainment. And yes, it did have some seat jumping parts.... |

How does it compare to "the Omega Man"? or for that matter, "Night of the Comet"? |

"Night of the Comet"... I forgot about that one. "Daddy would have gotten us Uzi's..." |

I didn't care for it. The more I think about it, the less I liked it. I found it very mediocre and predictable. Will Smith is AWESOME. I especially like him in action movies. He played his part well in this one, but the rest of the movie couldn't live up to him. If you've seen "28 Days Later", you've pretty much already seen this movie. It's nothing like the original story. It would have been a lot better I think if they hadn't tried to make CG copies of the vampires from "Blade 2". They looked like crap. I've seen more realistic looking video games. ~SM |

I can't wait to see it...I love Will Smith, and he is one actor that I will pay money to go see. I refuse to go pay $8+ for a movie ticket, but I will pay to see a Will Smith movie any day, and will actually buy his movies. I can't wait to see it in HD at home though!! =) |

Does Smith ride a bike like he did in iRobot? |
