I have a 97 S1 and a twin tec single fire ignition. 1005 model. I got it from another badweb member. Thanks! I have both pink tach wires disconnected from bike and one to the brown wire of the tach like the directions show. The bike runs great but no movement from the tach. Any ideas? Thanks, |

Did you connect the twintec tach drive to the gauge end of the pink wire, or to the coil/sending end? I only ask because I've done it... Also, do you have the twintec tach output set correctly for your firing method (single / dual)? |

I will double check but pretty sure it is connected to the tach side. I didn't see how you can change the tach output. It is in single fire mode on the nosecone is that what you mean? Thanks |

It's been a while since I put mine in my FLH, but I think you have to either pick a wire or move a DIP switch to make the tach lead work properly for the HD tach. The tach is designed for dual fire and has to see the right signal to work. IIRC you can download the directions from twintec's website... I also recall having to reverse the color codes for the front cyl / rear cyl coil wires on my FLH. I think they're brown and purple or something? Anyway, they were reverse of what they needed to be for my Evo big twin with S/E singlefire coil. |
