I know some people had the impression that I did not like Buells after i was so vocal about the new 1125R looks. Remember though I have had 5 new Buells. I still love my 2008 Firebolt and will buy a Water cooled Buell in the future I'm sure but I seriously could not get past the looks. I know its a great bike and I wish everyone well that gets one. I think it's important that the only American manufacture of sport bikes does well. I think thats why I personally was flabbergasted how great the hardware was and how last minute thrown together the looks were in my opinion. I wanted to apologize to the Buell people if I was rude. And just want to let them know I'm still out here with my trusty checkbook for future Buells. Until then I added this to my collection to tie me over. She's a big fat pig in the corners so I still need a slick American made Buell and hope to get one maybe in 2009? I look forward to the next new offering from Buell, maybe another Ulysses. |

So did you come back because you found out that the post that you thought was deleted was simply moved? Maybe badweb isn't run by Buell company "yes" men or Commie (Un-American) bastards like you claimed. PS-Get some new cans on that 'Busa. My buddy rides one and not only do the new cans sound much better, they also look great as well. |

Yes, I did find out the post was moved and I way over reacted thinking the worst that the site was edited,. I do apologize for that too. I hate the cans from the factory. I have seen a few smaller ones that look a zillion times better. What kind did you friend buy? |

Hey brad1445 can you work on that beast? or do you have to be at the mercy of the dealerships? Buells are easy to work on and and your bike looks like a nightmare on wheels. Mike |

My buddy is doing that exact same thing. He was fine with his ZZR1200 riding with me on my Uly. But now that I have the 1125R coming, he got scared and has ordered a busa. To steal from I think Ratbuell, "Get those faster litter bikes out in front out of the way for when the riding starts". Or something like that. Many Congrats brad. BTW, I was doing the math when my friend was thinking about the busa. The busa has just about the same power_to_weight ratio as the 1125R. Should be fun! |

I'll check on the cans for you--I know they are just slip-ons and fairly inexpensive. Your choice in the Busa is an interesting one. It certainly speaks towards the fact that everyone has different tastes. I think alot of people will mutter to themselves "...and he thought the 1125r was ugly!" |

Many a critic, has changed their tune after seeing one in the flesh. I have never seen a bike that looked so much different in a picture vs. real life. |

I got my bike last week. It does look much different than the pictures. The pods look thinner. The bike looks sleeker, also. This is a great looking bike! My last non-buell bike was a Repsol 1000RR. (I sold that to purchase my first Buell.) |

O' I know it's ugly. I think the Busa is one of the Ugliest Bikes ever made. I have always said that. But it is consistent in it design front to back. While I don't agree with the looks of the busa I understand what they were trying to convey, some melted bubble thingy. I do not get one message from the 1125. I'm not bashing it, I'm just saying in my opinion it likes like three different themes going. The thin Firebolt easy smooth curves on the tail. The Big extra wide bold fairing. The soft melty exhaust and the two extra scoops over a nekid bike. Reminder, I LOVE the new Buells hardware. I'm just sitting out the first edition for personal design reasons. I will be back. I do love Buells and will continue to wave the Buell flag everywhere I go. For now it will just be on the Firebolt.

Looks like that rear end is straight off a Buick--not a whole lot has changed aesthetically other than that. Why not a Gixxer 1000? Or a CBR600? Those are at the top of their class. If I was in the market for a IL4, those would be it for me. |

I remember the first time I ever saw an XB12S. My god, I thought it was ugly. Demented bulldog on steroids. How could anyone love that, I wondered. Of course about a month later there was one in my garage. :-) Same thing for the XB12R... I was initially shocked and repelled by the preying-mantis look of the thing. Same result. Got one of them too! Now here comes the 1125R, with its bulging chipmunk-cheeks and fat fairing. Oddly enough, my initial reaction was not at all negative. It is unusual compared to other sport bikes, but the underlying design is so innovative that those other bikes are beginning to look old-fashioned to me now. Congrats on the Busa, Brad, its a terrific and capable bike. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, but when the porkyness starts to get old, there will be a new Buell water-pumper waiting for you. |
