Great race at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn. The high banks are tough to see online. The .4 mile with 32 degrees of bank was pretty awesome and very fast. I will be there next year! A point of interest: Five major motorcycle manufacturers were present at the National Flat Track race at Lima, OH This weekend. Triumph made the main event for the first time in many years. Maybe we will see a Buell soon? |

Sorry I missed Lima. AMA Vintage Days is just around the corner, though. With the Sportster being the featured bike this year, it's time to start some chatter and get the interest level up. |

Rasta_dog, I missed Lima as well. I watched it online though. The guys are headed back to Joliet today for the rain out two weeks ago. Bad news about Columbus. Saluda VA next week and then Greenville, OH. I will be at Saluda but I am not sure about Greenville yet. |

When & why did Columbus get canceled? What bullshit. I can't make Greenville, so I guess no Professional AMA Flat Track live and in person for me this year. That sucks. We will be camping at Vintage Days. Looks like we'll have our 1964 XLR finished and be showing it. And when I say we I mean that my dad has either did the work 100% himself or paid someone who could do it better. I'll be there to take my share of undeserved credit whenever he's not within earshot. |

Rasta dog, I am not sure what the situation is with Columbus. I was looking forward to going again this year. I think there is a vintage race at Saluda Friday but I need to check. I would like to see your '64. I am a big Sportster fan and of course XR's are top shelf. I am thinking of building a street tracker one of these days. I think it would be a unique ride. 98% of what I wrench on has four cams and push rods. Life is good! |

It's almost finished. I'll attempt to post a picture when it's finished, but I haven't had much luck posting pictures within a thread. Maybe I can get one of my teenage kids to help me! |

Rasta_dog, There is a AHMRA Vintage event Friday night at Saluda Speedway. If I get up there early I will takes some pictures. Sorry to hear you can't make Greenville. Hagerstown is a couple of weeks away maybe you can make a road trip? |

Hagerstown is the same weekend as AMA Vintage Days at Mid Ohio, which is where we'll be. Springfield is Labor Day weekend, and I've never been to Springfield...that sounds very do-able. |

Rasta_dog, I may make Springfield as well. I know I will be at Peoria and maybe the big road trip to Tucson/Vegas in the fall. Give me a shout a couple of days before the race. If I am not at the race I watch them all on LiveIsports. |

I couldn't make it to Springfield for the Mile, but I watched it on Live I Sports. What a great race! I really wish I could have been there. Next year... |

Crusty, I watched it on Live I as well. The guy I was rooting for did not do as well as we would have liked but there was some awesome racing today. The third heat race was one of the best races of the year. I was at the spring practice day at the short track the day after Dayton. Maybe I will make it there next year as well. I really missed Mike Hacker not being there. Mike is back home and doing better. Three more Nationals for the year and then they start over again. Seemed like yesterday we were at Daytona. |
