I have not seen a steering damper for a Uly. Is there any riders that have installed one on theirs? |

I have a Firebolt and a Uly. I have installed the LSL on the Firebolt and see no reason it wouldn't work on the Uly http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-LSL-Buell-06-08 -XB-Steering-Dampner-Kit_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategor yZ35564QQihZ016QQitemZ260189797798QQrdZ1QQsspagena meZWDVW |

Chadhargis has an LSL on his Uly. Seems to fit fine. I may be wrong but I believe he got it from Americansportbike.com |

I put one on mine last year for my trip to Ak. It worked great on all the dirt/gravel roads up there. I lowered tire pressures, backed off on the fork / shock comp / rebound settings and cranked up the damper and was able to carry more speed confidently on the rough parts. On the paved roads I usually have it turned off. I don't race on the street so I never saw the need for it. I would buy it again, it's a keeper. |

I have a brand new LSL damper with the Uly mount from American Sportbike, and am looking to sell it since it's no longer going to be installed. I was going to be taking my Uly to the track, but have settled on a track bike instead. It won't save you on price, but how about free shipping? |

I like the design of the LSL damper, after spending the time researching it yesterday. All the others I saw, require removal of the big RSS, and we all know-that ain't gonna happen. They seem so expensive tho, but then again-everything good is expensive. Please LMK if it's still available. Or if anyone else has some ideas, I'm open for any suggestions. |

Tread, Did you develop a wiggle or something with the '08 conversion? Just curious as to why you want a damper? |

Quite the contrary actually. The Uly has never been more smooth and stable to ride, especially weaving through traffic at low speeds (under 45). While on the way to work yesterday at 0530 (pitch black dark), I was performing a rapid lane change while slicing through traffic at about 40 mph. As I went into a left lean under power I ran over a chunk of rubber about the size of a soda can. Had I been on my Honda motard, it probably would have went in to a nice tank slap that may have put me down. Two weeks ago while on my 1800 mile road trip I was buzzing an unlit back road and a coyote blasted across the road in front of me and I just barely caught a piece of it. Although the Uly remained quite solid through both of these close calls, I feel that a steering damper would have helped me had the situation been worse. Relax, it's not an ooh eight tree thang...more of a "I would rather brace for impact, than slow down". |

Cool. That makes more sense as I thought the longer wheelbase should make the bike more stable. You da man. |
