Mikej - If you're using firefox as your browser, you can install the It's all text extension which allows you to compose your messages using an external application. I'm assuming Word would work, and then you could use all it's spelling features. |

Blake or other custodians... How about a "Mythbusters" topic in the knowledge vault (or in some other persistent topic area)? We have flirted on the edge of this in other threads, and it would be great to have a place where Motorcycling urban legends are accumulated, and either busted or confirmed. Some example sub threads I can think of off the top of my head... 1) Synthetic oil in the gear box will make your clutch slip. 2) Synthetic oil will make your engine run cooler (for equivalent viscosities). 3) Clamping down your brake lever over night will work like a bleeding to get air out of the system. 4) The Buell ZTL / ZTL2 systems allow your wheel rim to play a significant role in heat dissipation. 5) Synthetic oil will flat spot your roller bearings in an Harley motor. 6) Loud Pipes Save Lives. You get the idea... anyone can post topics, everyone can argue about it, and someone sufficiently motivated and equiped can publish a definitive study to confirm or bust the myth. |

Blake Posted on Thursday, September 13, 2007 - Teeps, Me no savy. Please explain. On some forums there is a column that it titled thread starter, or Author. In other words the guy/gal that started the thread. please see this forum: http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=4 Or, include the Author on the subject line like this forum: http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/forumdisplay. php?s=&daysprune=10&f=51 Thanks for you consideration. Didn't I see where you have a beemer now? |

An "author" column. Gotcha. We don't really want to encourage more thread creation do we? Still just the old Cyclone, though I've long professed admiration of the GS, especially in its newest R1200GS form. |

Blake Posted on Saturday, September 15, 2007 An "author" column. Gotcha. We don't really want to encourage more thread creation do we? Isn't that the whole point of a news group? Seriously, I like the ability to see who started a thread without having to open each thread. The other thing that is annoying is how the threads get cold once they go to the archives... That is, when someone posts to a thread in the archive, it stays buried in the archive, instead of returning to the top of the forum index. |

I hear you and agree. That's been one of my peeves with Discus going way back. Hope to fix that issue with next major release of the board software. |

How can we, as board members, help this along? Would money help? |

Thats a thoughtful offer, but right now, no. We are currently working on some other things, foremost of which is a move to a new higher power server including a different OS. Thanks again though and please keep up the thoughtful suggestions/requests. |

Ok, Here's another suggestion; the ability to link to a photo, from a 3rd party host for the purpose of inserting pictures in posts. The upload button is good but severely limits the size of the attachment(which I understand.) |

\ imagelink { url } remove the spaces and insert the picture location in place of "url". Example: go to here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=3842&post=979913#POST979913 right click on the pic and open up the pic properties: capture and copy the pic address: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/308840.jpg Insert the pic address into the scheme: \ imagelink { http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/308840.jpg } and here's what you get without the spaces: This is all documented somewhere on one of the picture threads at the top of one of the pages. Hope this helps some. |

How about a Track Day header. Right now it's all scattered about. You could cover everything from basic set-up and requirements to tire selection to personal experiences. |
