http://youtube.com/watch?v=mL0_8gUXT2o Tried my new Oregon Scientific ATC-2K Action Cam attached to the left fork of my XB9S. I think it works well. |

I bought one specifically for March Badness and didnt even get to use it. On the last day, I mounted it to the dash of my truck and planned to record Wolf Pen Gap but the batteries took a crap and Dale's was out of AA's. Friggin' Murphy's law rules my existence... -Did you fully remove the cap on the rear or just unscrew it a little? Im having a hard time getting decent sound out of mine. |

I bought one for MBV also and did get a chance to vid some with it. I had an issue with it vibrating against the fork and making a sound that at first made me think of a bolt rattling around in the motor. I'll post up tonight when I get home. |

I made this video with one of those cameras in the Spring of 2007, right before I moved from Georgia to the flat-straight-boring land of Florida: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuQq0P0tehk I had the camera mounted on my crossbar, and I had to add some rubber to beef up the crossbar enough to mount the camera. I think it shakes too much. The camera had some issues with the light-dark transitions, too, but what do you expect for the price. All I wanted was something to remember my time in GA, and it definitely came through there. I need to figure out a way to put a screen on my crossbar now, so while I'm riding down some long straight road with nothing around, I can pretend I'm back in the mountains... Maybe I'll try the fork tube next time I get to a road that's worth recording. |

"-Did you fully remove the cap on the rear or just unscrew it a little? Im having a hard time getting decent sound out of mine." I had the cap screwed on tight. It had no problem picking up sound. I don't know about the quality because all that was recorded was my exhaust. |

Ill post a vid of the curviest stuff I can find in a few days. Prepare to ZZzzzZzZZzzz..... (Message edited by TORQUEMONSTER on April 09, 2008) |

Torquemonster These are typical roads around Pittsburgh.- One of the reasons I'm happy with my Buell, we have the roads to put it's handling qualities to good use. Jack (Old man) |

BTW The roads here may be one of the reasons Buells are the type of motorcycle they are. Erik Buell grew up here. Not many, straight, level roads for drag racer types. Just hills, valleys and curves. Perfect for a Buell. |

Just hills, valleys and curves. Perfect for a Buell. That is why I love GA! |

My vid is uploading....in the meantime 1. Doesn't the sound get picked from the front bottom? A little bitty ramp looking thing with a hole in the center of it? 2. Are you formatting in the recommended Fat16 or has anyone tried Fat32? If so what was the results. 3. what did you mount it to the forks with, I used the big ole strap it came with and did it on the headlights(insert joke here) |

U4euh #1 I don't know where the mic. is located. #2 I just connected it to the computer and ran it. I don't know from Fat16 or Fat32, It's more than Greek to me. #3 Mine came with a small strap and a large. I wrapped the small velcro strap around the fork leg. - No problem. Sorry I couldn't help more. |

well so much for my video, it is like 28 minutes long, way to much for youtube and my time to sit here and let it load. Any ideas how I can splice the video into sections? I think it was worth the money spent, 100 off ebay for a new one and came wit a 2gb card. I am happy, for the time being. |

U4euh, The video I posted was a 10 minute section of a much longer video of my ride that day. I edited it in Roxio 8, then had to record in on a disc to load onto You Tube. It seems there should be an easier, more direct, way of doing it. Perhaps someone here knows how. |

Thanks for the Vid Old..... enjoyed the ride scenery, but really just liked the sound of your exhaust - made me feel like I was out riding too! |

I hear ya, old_man. Those roads should all be named "Buell Way". Florida sucks. Yeah, we ride year round down here, but its a 90% bore-fest on a bike made for corners. Dont get me wrong, I giggle like a schoolgirl everytime I twist the wick, I just wish I had more opportunity to kiss the mirrors. With the roads we have here, my learning curve is at a major disadvantage. I recorded a few vids in quiet surroundings when I got my cam and I swear that when I left the cap ON, the video had no sound whatsoever. When I took the cap OFF, there was too much sound, like the mic was overloaded with sound- and it was staticy and intolerable at best. Theres a vid posted in the ATC-2K sample vids of a family watching waves crash against a house and the sound quality is pretty good as well as the visual quality. Check it out here... http://66.199.229.42/videos/submissions.htm I know that were gonna get some "flagging" and less than stellar quality when recording our rides, but I expected SO much more than what I got. Maybe mine needs some tweeking. You think that these issues wouldve been covered WELL in the dang instructions... |

Torquemonster I would give O.S. a phone call, I'm sure they would be of help. They seem a reputable company. Jack (Old man) |

I examined my camera closely today. It appears, to me, that the mic. is located near the, front, underside of the camera - the, black, slightly raised piece with the 2 screws. |

That is exactly where I was thinking(see post above). I was able to get a clip of the video up on myspace, but not youtube. My account is public, check it out. Click on videos right under the picture then choose the one from MBV www.myspace.com/buellin8tor |
