Hey Hoon, hope you got my mail. Here's an idea for a short rideout in my area if you and anyone else fancy coming down here. Meet at the Red Lion pub in Avebury (15 minutes from M4 jnc 15). Then do a loop down past Shaftesbury, stop for a brew at Compton Abbas airfield, then come back up via Salisbury plain and if it's dry we can have a blast on some of the wider flatter tank tracks. Good fun those, you can easily blast up to 70-80 mph on the gravel. Then back up towards the M4, stop at Hungerford for another quick brew at a garage, fill up and on you go. That routes about 115 miles, can easily make it longer or shorter, whatever you feel like. Anyone else over this side of the pond up for it? I too am up for that but as bigkuri says,when,that is the question. I'm fully booked except the last w/end of November now until February. I was thinking of seeing if people (it will be fewer than originally planned due to a couple of guys from UKBEG not being available now) were still up for a meeting on the 24th Nov,thoughts? If not in November of this year then it may be easier to postpone it 'til next year (when the weather starts warming up (Spring/April?) or am I being soft?). I'm currently in the process of buying a full textile waterproof suit from Hein Gericke which should be like wearing a Duvet(Quilt) so I may be up for testing it out in March. Lets still try and make this happen 'cos it would be a great craic I reckon. | ||

Yeah, sorry but w/e of 24/25th Nov is out and the diary is starting to fill up rapidly - mostly with non biking stuff  Not being soft at all mate, it's no fun riding if you're freezing cold so sometime in March makes sense to me. Maybe some of the UKBEG guys will be able to make it then? (I must get onto that site more often, keep forgetting about it.) Unless we can squeeze it in between Xmas & New Year? | ||

No worries M,let's leave it 'til March. I like the sound of the gravel roads,I definately want to do this. Let's start sorting a date for it towards the end of January sometime. If we don't type/speak before Xmas,have a good'un. |
