tripp, I will believe it when they stock a belt and clutch cable for my bike.....it shocks me to think that in the whole Northeast no stealership stocks these parts...what they want is the service (it's not rocket science it's dollars and cents)....stock the parts and a customer might drop it off and have the parts installed. Dropping a bike off and waiting for any dealer to order spark plugs is bad bizzness (quoting eric) When Eric or i have more in our shed than a dealership is just scary crazy. fix that mindset and you have overcome a major hurdle Of the Buells in the area we (NEBO) represent a small fraction of the total number of buells. Many of these riders are casual riders...these people might wait for things that , us enthusiasts find unacceptable. Providing these services will only service these customers better. Furthermore, the enthusiasts will be on board to, at a minimum, buy wear item parts. If you want to shock the hell out of the boss, ask for the sales sheets for the buells customers. Send them a postcard followed up with a phone call inviting them for burgers, dogs, and a free buell t-shirt at the dealership. Use this to reconnect with these customers, survey them for their needs, and sell them belts and stuff. Total investment by the dealership..$150 FYI ...most dealerships spend thousands of dollars a year on HOG. Peanuts and the ROI ( return on investment)is all positive after two belts r sold. Even i would show up for a free 7 dollar t-shirt. in conclusion: If i had a dealership that showed that kind of commitment i would buy my parts from them. For a 32 cent postcard, a 10 cent phone call and a 7 dollar shirt i am a customer for life. It's simple!!! Dealerships spend thousands on Hog and receive thousands in sales and service...good investment. Spend a few hundred on buell and receive thousands in sales and service...better investment....better ROI ... fell free to show this to the boss. Bet you don't have the balls if they do that they will be ahead of the pack good to see you r fighting the fight... just my two cents |

dude! it's sooo weird being on this side, you know me i'm an enthusiast from way back. and apparently you have'nt seen my balls in a while, hehe. (jk) so anyways, i will show my boss this thread, he comes back from vacation tuesday. i do plan on doing a mailer by spring at least, keep in mind i'm just a pee-on over here so i'm taking baby steps, however don't be surprised if i do have a belt and clutch cable for your bike soon, i've been authorized to revamp the buell parts dept. for the spring (we have the clutch cable, but not the belt, doh! it'll happen soon tho, mike thanks for posting i will continue to fight for all of us, the parts dept. is behind me all the way, every parts person is buell friendly over here, and any time a fellow bueller comes in i'm there, i want to see their bike and willing to bend over backwards for them, i love buells! that's why i applied here! hey, i had a great time with all youz guys at hh3 and hope to see you all soon! |

all right, i've been thinking about it and -enuff said - i'm going to do my best to make precision a super buell friendly place to be and i'll leave it at that for now. so, who's riding tomorrow? i'm dying to get out there, unfortunately my bike insurance won't be legal till monday (took some time to come up with the $, once they cancel you they want you to pay for the year in full, doh!) so i'm going to have to take it easy and hope i don't take a digger. if the weather don't cooperate then i'm down for sunday. do any of you folks know anything about drum brakes? i have a freakin reject sticker on my truck cause my e-brake no worky, bah! eric(eboos) thanks for the friendly encouragement btw, sorry i can't make it tomorrow nite but my dad's taking me out for a belated b-day. |

Yeah, tomorrow night is pretty much canceled due to weather and lack of commitment to attend. I just got my stitches out today, and I might be able to ride again in about a week (the doctor said about another month till I get full range of motion in my finger). |

I've never bought a bike from Paw-took-it. I jest use um as a partz department. Sometimes they have it, sometimes I orders it, Jest the same. Alls well and good, I likes them and they like my $$$. I buy lotza parts over the years, ha ha. Know me and treat me friendly like. Last time there they asked if I knew Mrs. Ducxl, yep said I jest missed her. |

THANKS Shawn! NO Rush on the package, Much appreciated! Tripp....Good luck with your Quest! Really! But why wait till spring to "revamp"? Why not take the bull by the horns and run with it, DO IT NOW!!!! If they won't support you RIGHT NOW (not in spring) They won't do it and they are just "selling" it to you..Seen/heard it more times than not...Right Erik..He too HAD a vision..Still same ol same ol there....NO SUPPORT!!! thats to bad for erik, He is good people and he did try there, but with very little support from the owner. IF they were for real they would Step Up To The Plate NOW as we Buellers Do most of our Maintenance/Modifications over the "Off" season(if there is one)...As ALL OTHER dealers have done, They talk a good game but when they come up to bat...They strike right out....History speaks for itself, And I look for Action,,, not words... I been hearing this crap for years now.. I ride as soon as the weather breaks and let the bike go to hell till next off season. I ride in the spring like most others here... |

wow, looks like the weather's gonna be a problem tomorrow, just as well, better off not riding around without ins. eric, you make a good point, might as well get while the gettin's good, i saw somewhere on badweb a list of dealer suggested stock parts, i'll have to dig that up. i really hope this all takes off. i'm anxious to see how well the 1125 does for the buell line, i heard the first one rolled off the assembly line yesterday! there should be two of those badboys showing up at the shop in two weeks! |

Eric, it's not over yet. I still have a vision, and while you may not see the progress, I do. Like I said all along, change will not happen overnight, but it will happen. The owner was not to blame, if anything, I was, for not having a clear action plan and realistic short term objectives. This too will also change so I will be able to reach my long term objectives. |

Tripp - best of luck in getting that dream to come true...honestly. I don't have anything against Precision...I actually do go there now when I need parts BECAUSE the parts guys there actually do pay attention to Buellers (and the CORRECT part number). What am I looking for??? clothing, hats, shirts, stickers, signs, patches (you saw Mike's place in NY - signs everywhere - I'm jealous). On the more expensive items (leathers, rain gear, helmets, gloves, etc.) I don't mind having to put that stuff on order but I would say you at least have one of each size so we can know what to order. When I bought all my gear when I got my bike I had to wait for the helmet and gloves to come in twice...because there was nothing there to size me up. OK, ok... the leathers may be a bit of a stretch but you get the point. For parts...at least have all the regular maintenance items in stock. If it's listed in the book for the 5k interval list it should be in stock. Just some input from a potential life long customer. PS - Like Eric said, why wait for spring? You have the ABSOLUTE BIGGEST OPPORTUNITY to show the dealers dedication to Buell owners coming up in two weeks...Have a party for the day the 1125's show up at the door. Have us there for the uncrating!!! Make that the kick off event for being the areas #1 dealer for Buell enthusiasts! PPS - If the new bikes show up on a weekday - DON'T OPEN THEM UNTIL THE PARTY!!! |

Tripp....Erik...Best Of Luck To Ya Both! Really! I can say at least Precision is a bit better over Sheldons, They actually have the Buell's in sight when you walk in the door and have a decent clothing selection.(Best i've seen around here anyways) IF I need something on the fly I do check there first, With crossed fingers....Sometimes I get lucky, But usually strike out and get the ol' "we can order it"... I usually respond with "yea..So can I and get it cheaper/faster too.." I deal with American Sport Bike mostly, Now They Are THE BOMB!!!! fast parts delivery, stocks most parts, full tech support on everything Buell!!! I usually tell people to tape a conversation (seriously..I have)if they call there as you will be over whelmed with knowledge!!! Now that is a KILLER Place to do buisiness with!!!!! Them Guys Are Second TO NONE!!! |

jim, try using some green auto body tape (looks like green masking tape), it has a little stretch and flex to it, it helps with the curves. It still looks better than anything I could do! |

I used green powder coating tape that can be put into the oven. It was kinda difficult to work with. I have been told you can do it by hand with a small air nozzle and just blow off the excess powder you don't want before you bake it. I think I'm gonna try that route. It's ok to be bitter shawn. I have the skills that kill. |

Anybody know a good painter? I just ordered up a Kompo-tech airbox cover from Trojan. And did Eric already curse us all by mentioning the "S"-word? When it comes to the riding season, I'm all for global warming. Were it not for the fact that all the roads here are dead-straight (and lined with IEDs), it's perfect riding weather here: 65 in the morning, 80's thru the afternoon. I should be on a bird tomorrow and back in Mass sometime late in the week because of the stupid Kuwaiti visa hassle. Anyone riding this weekend? |
