Open to all riders, I'm sure Buell is happy to have other folks trying out their bikes. These new bikes are really great, I'm excited that the company is really going to be competitive with all the others. The 1125 is so much more refined than the older models.

Interesting day. I drove the 100 miles to my Buell dealer (not far from Willow btw) to pick up some bling that was in for the Uly. Caught my salesman (very Buell friendly) and the manager (rides a Uly) together out on the floor and had a great talk on HD/Buell and their current and future bikes. They had four new 08 Buells parked just to one side of the door and a used 07 Firebolt that a guy was just dying to buy if he could just talk the better half into it. I was told they are doing well at moving their used Buells which must be true as not one Buell new or used I saw there a month ago was still there. We talked about the mentality of some HD riders, ricers and dirt riders and the Mgr said they have a lot of work to do but he sees a day down the road when Buell will be as important in sales to his store as HD. Cool stuff!
Chatted a bit on the 1125 and they wanted to know if I was doing the Inside Pass at Willow and I told them I was just going to come up to see friends and watch as I heard it was already full. Next thing I know I've got a Pass in hand.

So is my Technics fabric pants and jacket good enough or do I have to have leather?

Novice Gear Requirements:

Leather or heavy jacket. No nylon.
Back protector highly recommended.
Chaps, leather or Cordura pants.
Reinforced synthetic riding suits acceptable.
Full-face coverage helmet.
Over-ankle riding boots.
Full-fingered gloves.

Intermediate and Advanced - Gear Requirements:

One or two-piece leathers.
Back protector highly recommended.
Reinforced synthetic riding suits acceptable only if competition approved.
Full-face coverage helmet.
Over-ankle riding boots.
Full-fingered riding gloves.

This is direct from the PTT event policies paperwork I printed off when I registered.

Ceejay, I've mentioned dudes in the novice group wearing jeans, I think perhaps they were those kevlar reinforced riding jeans - according to the paperwork that would fit, but I can run to the dealership and ask. The dude that rode wearing jeans in May was one of the salemen...

There were a few guys just wearing those cordura over-pants. If you are looking for a less expensive option than leather or won't be seen in chaps.

Brett - just be advised that Laguna is WAY BEYOND ANAL-RETENTIVE on noise restrictions. The fine is $1000 PER LAP for the violation after you are shown a black flag.

You get 2 declared test laps to check sound but once you are black flagged, the bike is done for the day (or you pay $1000 per lap).

Many older stock exhausts cannot pass sound tests up there - that's why fewer and fewer track day operators run Laguna.

If you have any exhaust other than the stock, you're NOT going to pass noise testing. Bummer but brace yourself.

I'd just go and ride the demo bikes and enjoy the track sessions.

CeeJay (or anyone else going to the Mid Ohio inside pass event)...

I have an extra set of armored cordura riding pants that I will bring. I'm not sure which set ends up being "spare". One is for fat guys (230 pounds and up) one for "almost fat guys" 210 to 230. I am currently moving from the fat guy to almost fat guy category, and current projections show me in the smaller pants, but time will tell : )

i also rode the 1125R at Miller Raceway on the 6th...........its easily ridden in 3rd gear the entire track.......unless of course you get off on doing 6th gear 150mph straights......i personally dont care for the straights so i pretty much just did the 3rd gear riding.........

I'll add to that:
MID-OHIO GUYS... I also have a spare pair of armored cordura pants, for "twig guys", size is either 28 or 30, I forget which exactly. I also have some Joe Rocket Street Sport boots in size 9 (but fit like a 10 shoe), that are available for the borrowing.
I'm also doing a Pre-Mid-Ohio ride in the twisties of Eastern Ohio for anyone interested: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/305906.html?1189549452

Man I want to do an Inside Pass day! I wish there was one anywhere near me, but I don't think there is. I am in Tampa, Fl in case anyone knows of an Inside Pass day anywhere near here.
