I was on the Heli bar website today looking at their Buell offerings. The only Heli bars on their for Buells were for the 2003-2005 Firebolts. Was there a change in 2006 that would prevent the bars from working. And also, for the Buell, it looks like it is the triple tree or top clamp or something that you are changing out, not the bars themselves. Finally, does anyone have the Heli Bars on their Buell and if so, how do you like them? |

The Heli bars for the firebolt should be good for all models to present. You do install a new top triple clamp and the fork tubes are the same diameter at the top triple for all models. I do not have them installed, but that's only because it hasn't reached the top of my priority list yet. I haven't heard of many people being unhappy with the Heli-bars on their 'bolt. |

I actually found a couple on my laptop. They do not come in black, I had mine powdercoated.

What is the difference in installed height between the Heli bars and the standard ones please. |

Height wise there is very little difference. Reach is where the change is. The stock top triple clamp has the bars mounted on tabs that extend forward (see pict below).
The change in reach makes a big difference for my reach challenged arms and dunlop ;+}. FWIW American Sport Bike sells some adapters that would allow more vertical movement of the bars: Bar risers I don't know if the Heli plate can be used with these? Neil S. Just installed them on my '06 a few days ago. I'm definitely happy with the change. It's not an extreme difference (1" up and 1.5" back) but is noticeable. Some friends that rode my bike that had not ridden it before were surprised that it is still as aggressive as it is even with the helibars. It's a more comfortable position for me as far as my wrists and rear end are concerned. |

I'm 6'2" and I have those and s pegs on my 07 and I could ride it all day. The factory bars have an angle to them that I was not really fond of and the helibars are straighter. |

I haven't tried mounting them, but I really don't think the Rox risers will work on the Heli's. If nothing else, I doubt your bars would swing lock to lock without hitting your fairing. Al |

Al, think the Rox will work on a 1125R? and did you get my email? (sent from your website) |

I don't. While I THINK the rox risers won't work on the Heli's, I KNOW they won't work on the stock firebolt and 1125R top triple tree. The bar retaining features are different on the Heli than the stock top clamp, the Rox won't clamp in properly to the stock tree. |
