I know I haven't looked into this, but what are these?:

HAH! That super cheap heated vest DOES in fact plug into 12 volt, although the person I spoke with at the company was not sure what type of connector it uses.
I can't pass up that price. I'll let you all know what kind of connector it is in about a week.

QUESTION:
Will all heated clothes (like this cheap vest) work with a teperature adjuster? |

Mike, it should work with a temperature adjuster. Not sure of the connector it comes with, but it was an easy swap to change (cut, solder, heat shrink tubing, done) it to the 2-prong SAE (aka battery tender) type connector. Or you could just install a 12-volt auxiliary outlet on your bike if you fdon't already have one and use that. |

Probably, provided you can get the connectors right.
It's just Volts * Amps = heat... so all the controllers are going to either be lowering the volts (which will lower the amps which will lower the heat) or turning the volts quickly on and off with a variable duty cycle (which will lower the amount of times the amps are actually flowing which will lower the heat). |

I was going to attach the SAE style plug to the vest and get this type of flush connector for the bike:

Well, this didn't go back on track... so I'll continue with my direction.
I received my $30 + $10 s/h heated vest from the website posted above.
It apparently used to come with a cigarette lighter plug, but doesn't anymore. As all the papers have that little bit of info blacked out with a sharpie.
It still says it will run off of either the battery back, or a 12v automobile system, so I'm still going to make an adapter to run it off the bike.
The heating element covers both sides of the front, the back, and the whole collar, which is about 2 inches tall.
I'll have to cut and solder the appropriate plug on it before I can test it out (8 D-cell battery's cost A LOT)
I'll report back once I experience the warmth. |

I cut and soldered an SAE Battery Tender plug and it works fine.
Trust me, you'll like the warmth it produces. |
