Just tore off the top end on my 99 M2, whole bunch of little problems;rear base gasket leak, loss of compression in front cyl. The front head seems pretty tore up,excessive carbon build up, valve guide seals shot. Both valves are somewhat pitted and lapping them didn't take them all out. The loss of compression and severe blow by was due to the rings lining up(easy fix). Would it be safe to assume that the valves will seat properly, the front are in the same condition as the rear and haven't had any problems with them. |

Perhaps you should consider having a shop resurface the valves and seats. There is nothing like high compression for good performance. Better yet get new valves, recut the seats and smooth the ports. That really does it for power enhancement. |
