That's a story of taking lemons and making lemonade. The car is made of un-obtainium, and also un-believably cool. If I could climb into it I'd LOVE to take it for a spin, although I'd guess that a T-rex is a much more realistic car/motorcycle type machine, and the Ariel Atom is a more attainable small sports coupe with a similar design intent. Then again since when were these kind of dream machines about what is or is not "Attainable"? |

The Sportstar just redefined the entire concept of motorcycle powered cars. Look at this! Originally designed as a production racer to compete against Corvettes and Vipers with power from a twin turbo 10,000rpm 960hp V8, the project was put on hold when Grand-Am rules changed and moved toward an emphasis on Daytona prototypes. The car became obsolete as a racer. Has a familiar ring to it, doesn't it? Who are these clowns that feel the need to continually change the rules? |
