Just picked up a 06 CityX (still keeping the 04 XB12S though) but the muffler is rusting pretty badly underneath (and with only 1100 miles on it). Any list members repainted theirs and if so what is the best paint to use (closest match and best quality)?

Also: the clutch lever mount is scratched up a bit - any tips for the paint on that as well?

Looking forward to comparing the two bikes back to back when the weather improves!

Brent- I use Dupli-color High Temp Ceramic 1200* Black on my pipes. You can get it at AutoZone, Advance, Wally-World, etc. About $6 a can. Pull your pipe, clean it real good with some degreaser, let it dry, and paint away. If your rust is bad you may want to sand it or use a wire brush on it. Good luck

Take it to your dealer and complain loudly. Here in the UK dealers are now replacing rusting mufflers (lots of them) under warranty due to pressure from customers. I can see no reason why US dealers shouldn't also do this.

Most US Buell dealers are dicks.

Matt, that's actually a GOOD idea! If it gets too expensive to replace those mufflers under warranty, they'll have two options:

1) Make a muffler that DOESN'T RUST
2) Exclude the muffler from the warranty.

Maybe I'm a pessimist, but I think I already know what will happen...
