I know , I know , not the tps reset guy again ! I took my 07 XB9R on a long ride today , after reseting the TPS yesterday , and it seems to idle good , run good in the upper RPMs , but has a slight surge at lower RPMs part throttle that it did not have before I put the Jardine Pipe , ECM and Filter on . Its not bad , I just wonder if I should reset the TPS again . I followed the instructions taken from this web site on doing the procedure and am pretty sure I did everything correctly . The only thing I wonder about is I reset it twice , because the first time I dont think I had the throttle plate closed all the way . So the second time I reset it , I know it was closed , but the engine was partially warmed up . Would that make a difference ? Does engine temp affect the TPS reset procedure ?

just something to check......where the L-pipe clamps to the headers make sure you have no leaks. the clamp supplied with the jardine is a piece of junk and that leak caused all kinds of problems when i first put mine on. it was an easy fix by using the stock clamp and throwing the other in the trash. just something to look into before you do another TPS reset.

So the TPS is set with the engine cold , once set , warm up and set idle ?

I run my bike up to operating temp, then set the tps and idle.

Raise your idle ever so slightly to the higher end of the scale. Setting the TPS by the book also causes the surge you are experiencing on my 04 XB9R.

I do them all the time. I wouldn't be doing them on a totally cold bike, But if it was run and then cooled I would still feel pretty comfortable with that.

Just bring the temp. up to 320deg. and set the idle properly.

Did my TPS reset again with bike completely warmed up , seems to run very good now . I also took the advice to set my idle a little high . That also seemed to help . Thaks All !
