Old stuff. Well not at 150 plus tho. I remember a guy who used to slide along each side along with the back like this guy and go back and forth between positions. He did it going around oval tracks at over 100 mph. He would also do a two up skit where he did side to side to the back to standing backwards behind the bike to facing forwards then letting go at 100 and staying on his feet until he slid to a stop. Pretty sure he used a Harley, maybe an XR. |

I also remember a guy who used to do sub six second 1/4 mile demo runs in a go-cart. Used a hydrogen peroxide rocket engine (actually made steam) for power and he always coasted about the last third of the way. Said he just wasn't brave enough to stay on the throttle. Scared everybody else enough that he was soon banned from doing any more demos. Both these guys were doing this stuff about 30 years ago I think. Ouch, kinda showing my age here! |

I'm sure Gary wouldn't, but that would be quite the show at night, you'd see those sparks for miles! |

my question is more like why not? the way i look at it is someday everyone will find the limit of what they can pull off and walk away from in one piece(or mostly one piece)until then we might as well enjoy the search |

The wonder of humanity is that we can conceive of and do SO many things. Outlandish or not I can't bag on a guy who's stretching the limits a bit (understatement?) in a considered way that will bring no harm to others. What he's doing has little meaning in itself but its inspirational for him and might inspire others to break out of their shell a bit and do something that does matter. Question our limits and perceptions with reason. |
