I know it work good on my cars glass but what about the visor on my helmet as it’s plastic? And do you think it’d help with getting the bugs guts off? Birdy |

I just did mine last weekend, it was scratched anyway. I got caught in the rain Sunday and it worked great. I did the inside and the out side and noticed in that it also fogs up less |

Just as a note, if you don't want to spend the money for rain-x regular turtle wax works too for glass. I think it last longer. |

I use rainx on my visors all the time, never had a problem. Its not for cleaning them, use windex or something for that, but then use the rainx once it is clean to make it shed water. I got a pack of "rainx wipes" that will go in the luggage on the next road trip. It wears off when you clean off the bug guts and such. |

Many people in my club swear by Plexus for both cleaning visors (and windshields) and creating a water-shedding shield on those parts. |

I used to use Rain-X on the windscreen of my plane and actually kinda looked forward, upon starting the engine, to watch the stuff go POOF! I've never used it on a car . . . but I can assure you it works great on an airplane. |

Just got a new car for the wife, when we got it home, first thing was Rain-X on the windshield. Been using it on all my cars since the 70s. It works. |

Rain-X works great, but I had a problem with it at night with a clear visor. It made water droplets very tiny over the surface of the visor and when I wasn't moving fast enough for wind to help shed the water, glare off streetlights and headlights was obscuring my vision. This was only a problem at night, the stuff does work great in the daytime. Anyone ever have this problem? |

rainx works better than any kind of wax...moisture gets trapped under wax on surfaces like glass or plastic and can fog up...never tried the plexus but i can assure u rain x works. |

Oh, and I would not put it on the inside of the visor, only the outside. I expect many visors have some special coating on the inside already. |

I used rainX on my old helmet with no problems. Haven't done it on the new lid yet. |

I use Rain-X antifog on the inside of my visor with good success. I've got some Plexus laying around, i'll try that on the outside. Thanks for the tips! |

I've been using RainX for eons on the bike. Wash the shield with something then rainX it. takes all of 5 minutes. If you find water beading up on the visor, turn your head to the side, the water will flow off the visor. Never had any issues with it and I ride in the rain all the time. |

I have been using RainX on my helmet shields for years with good results. It is kind of neat when raining when you turn your head to the side the rain walks off. It also helps get the fogged plastic headlights clear...well, for a while. |

how does it get fogged headlights clear? I thought that was oxidized plastic and the only cure for that was tons upon tones of rubbing/polishing compound. or super fine wet sanding |

I'm lazy, so I appreciate the new window washer fluid with the Rainex already in it. Plexus on my shields. |

most of the time ur right ferris the only way to clear up bad plastic is to buff or sand and buff..i think rain x would make some nasty plastic look better kinda like silicon would if it wasnt too far gone. |

I should be the Rain-X poster boy. I took the wipers OFF of my 98 S-10 and went 100K. I put the wipers back on after that. Went 100K just to prove a point......but it was a hassle a few times in the winter. |

Rain-X fills the little scratches in glass, for a while. Darn stuff is addictive, on my car, once a week in rainy season. Buffing & getting it wet takes care of the rainbow swirls at night. When it quits working under 40 mph. it's time to re-apply. Many's the time I pull under a closed drive thru to spray on & smear Rain-X out of the rain, then back out & the rain "polishes" the rainbow's out. The lack of wiper metronome is well worth the effort. I haven't tried it on my visors, I use Plexus on that. I'll try it on my HJC. ( the $45 visors on the Suomy get the plexus/soft cloth only treatment ) |

I don't know it it is a fact, but I've been told not to use windex or other window cleaners on plastic. I make my own cleaner using a little dish washing liquid and alcohol, in a spray bottle. |
