CREVIER RIDES BUELL XBRR TO ASRA SUPERBIKE WIN AT DAYTONA Estok Wraps Up Championship Season with ASRA Pro Thunderbike Victory DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- (Monday, October 22, 2007) Deeley H-D/Buell Canada rider Steve Crevier rode a Buell XBRR to victory in the American Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA) Pro Superbike race at the 24th Annual Race of Champions at Daytona International Speedway. At the same event, Deeley H-D/Buell Canada/Ruthless Racing rider Dave Estok scored a comfortable win in Pro Thunderbike, capping a season that saw him secure the 2007 ASRA Pro Thunderbike championship at the previous ASRA National event in Summit Point, W.V. Crevier, a multiple Canadian National roadracing champion and the 1998 AMA 600 Supersport champion, took the pole for the ASRA Superbike race with a lap of 1:52.817 on the Daytona road course. He then led from the pole in an 8-lap race run in wet conditions and won by 5.62 seconds. Chris Fillmore was second on a Kawasaki ZX-6R. Crevier’s victory was the first win for a Buell XBRR at a National-level event in the United States. Jeff Wood, the 2007 ASRA Pro Superbike Champion, dropped out of the race after two laps. Riding in dry-to-wet conditions, Estok was fourth in qualifying for the Pro Thunderbike race. Richard Cooper was fast qualifier with a lap of 1:59.136 on a BMW. Estok got a good start and was leading after one lap of the eight-lap National in dry conditions. On lap two, Hal’s H-D/Buell/Hal’s Speed Shop rider Dan Bilansky and Deeley H-D/Buell Canada/Ruthless Racing rider Darren James came together while running second and third, causing both Buell riders to crash. James was done for the day, but Bilansky, the 2006 ASRA Pro Thunderbike champion, continued after picking up his motorcycle. Estok cruised to an easy win, finishing 36.5 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, BMW R1200S rider Brad Hendry. Julio Fuentes was third on a Ducati, followed by Olivier Spilborghs on a Buell XB12R. Bilansky finished the race in 10th position. Buell riders took the top-five positions in the final ASRA Pro Thunderbike season standings. Estok finished with 253 points, followed by Bilansky with 183, Joe Rozynski (Sound Waves/Hal’s Speed Shop) 149, James 147, and Sam Rozynski (Sound Waves/Hal’s Speed Shop) 135. In Championship Cup Series (CCS) sprint racing at Daytona, Crevier won Expert SuperTwins on a Buell XBRR, Bilansky won Expert Thunderbike on a Buell XB12R, and Hoban Brothers Racing/H-D/Buell of Appleton rider Jeff Johnson won Expert Lightweight F40 on a Buell XB12R. Awesome work and looking at it after the fact, starting dry, finishing wet!! Tough racing in varying conditions to say the least. Too bad about James and Bilansky coming together early and James retiring for the day. DANG it would've been a fun race to watch! |

Deeley's and crew are sure showing us how to go Buell racing. Was Pascal Picotte there in support of them? |
