Well, I finally laid my Uly down on Saturday. I went on a group ride with about 11 others on Suzuki DRZ-400s and 1 KTM Adventure. Mostly street, but there were some really fun sections of dirt road, and some short sections of mud from the previous night's rains. it was a first experience of the pavement, and thought the bike was handling great, until we hit this one soft section. The rear got a little squiddly, then straightened up, and all of sudden BAM! the front tire went sideways, and she fell right over. Wasn't going fast, maybe 15-20mph. No damage, just some scuffed plastics. Haven't decided if I want to replace the left mirror, handguard, and frame puck or not. Not much injury except a slightly pinched hand, bruised knee (even had knee pads on), and a bruised middle finger knuckle. The handguard popped loose, so I'm thinking my hand was pinched between the guard and ground. Guess what? The BAS worked! Fancy that!

Haven't decided if I want to replace the left mirror, handguard, and frame puck or not. If memory serves me correctly, you've got about $75-100 in "damage". Of course, around here we call them character marks! Glad you are pretty much OK. Ulys are tanks and can really take a hit. |

Nah. Just go back the other direction and scuff the other side to match. |

Ft_bstrd, sage advice! Taken to heart! I will leave the character marks intact! It's a bit of a tearjerker to see the first bruises, but screw it, I'm sure it won't be the first drop. |

I laid mine down in the first 500 miles. I spent the money to make it beautiful again. Now I just save the money for farkles to distract the eye from the blemishes. "what is that mark right....Hey Look! A Chicken!" |

mine fell over while we were trying to put it on race stands on un-even ground in the paddock at Blackhawk before I'd put a single mile on my bike (The shifter hadn't arrived yet, so my brother even had to test ride it for me) |

I still have nightmares about red pick-up trucks. |

Fantastic design. I've dropped mine, wet leaves, came in radical, slipped when putting foot down. Nil damage. Did similar thing to a Suzuki M109 - $NZ7.5k. |

Of course, my rear tire was slightly balding, which caused the fishtail prior to the tipover. When I start fishtailing, i was afraid to twist the throttle up to lighten the front end for fear of spinning the back out completely. My fault for going out with less than adequate tread. New tires on order now. Gonna stick with the Syncs for now. I ride mainly street, and really liked the feel of the Syncs...for mud, not so much. Like I said, this was my first off-road excursion, so practice will hopefully make perfect. |

Doh! I was a bit confounded for a bit there. Thanks Froggy. I was having delusions of color changing cf at different angles. Kind of a bummer now. |
