I noticed that the airbox cover fasteners are now black... Are they just treated stainless, or are they treated steel? If they are steel, I am assuming the ones from the XB series should bolt right on...? (my XB is still in the shop, so I cannot check myself) |

The finish is plating. We use the black olive to denote metric. The silver fasteners of XB will not work as they are 1/4 - 20 vs. the M6 of the 1125R. |

Thankyou for making the metric stuff a different color. Very smart, so peeps like me can't blame any one but myself if I confuse one for another. |

Thankyou for making the metric stuff a different color. Very smart, so peeps like me can't blame any one but myself if I confuse one for another. There are exceptions to the rule of thumb... XB = Silver = SAE 1125R = Black Olive = Metric For example the non-shouldered fasteners under the trunk of XBR are 1/4 – 20 even though they are black. Another example, due to the plating not being able to take the heat, the fasteners that mount the 1125R rear header heat shield are stainless steel. Therefore, this is just a rule of thumb and please be mindful that there are a few exceptions to the rule. |
