OK, I have searched on here and I don't see that it has brought up before. My license plate vibrates horribly bad. I have a stock exhaust and the vibration from my license plate is the loudest thing on my bike and its getting annoying! What have you done to fix it? or do you just live with it. |

I have two plastic bolts holding my plate on my 07 XB12Ss. I'm thinking of making a bracket so that I can bolt down the bottom holes on the license plate as well. |

I have never noticed this on by bike. Maybe you could put a couple of pieces of the tape that has adhesive on one side and foam on the other in between plate and mount. Might help? |

try bending you plate slightly so that the bottom loads up against the bracket when the top bolts are tight. Also get some real hardware. |

Plastic, blah. I got stainless steal bolts for my plate. Nice and solid. |

My plate is just about ripped off because of speed, I'm gonna have to put some rubber washers behind and put a new hole in the bottom where the bracket meets up. I had a'lot of vibration too. (but) that only happened after I took my rear reflector off. |

Heavy Duty Velcro tape. I put some on and it makes a nice sandwich. Also helps when I'm removing/replacing. I already lost one plate cause I did not have it tightened enough. The velcro gives it nice pressure |

Mine kept flying off every time I rode over 180 so I welded it on. |

Have a buddy get you some of those ear plugs that you have to roll up and stick in your ear to expand. Roll it up and wedge it in there and let it expand, no more vibrations. Ask me how I know. |

Mine didn't vibrate until the lil' old man rear ended me and crunched the tag up a bit. It's mostly straightened, but now makes an awful racket in certain RPM ranges. Hasn't bothered me enough to work on it, though.... ~SM |

I enjoyed everyones suggestions. I even tried the zip ties and that worked but I decided to go one step further. I got a piece of scrap acrylic (which is pretty stiff) and I put some holes in it and bolted it to to my license plate bracket and license plate as well. Its solid now, it's not going anywhere!
At least I can say I put my mechanical engineering degree to some use! Next thing on my list is to fabricate a sissy bar/backrest for the passenger. I have an idea how to do it without any noticeable modification to the motorcycle |
