Anybody see the new 2008 liter bikes from Honda and Kawasaki? Both look pretty mean. The pictures of the Honda from the dealer show were actually pulled from the website until Sept 28 for some reason but they were up for about 24 hours before they were taken off. Not sure what the big deal was. The Kawi is all over the web for all to see. Anyway, both are sporting lower exhausts, basically most of the exhaust is under the engine, with a smaller silencer coming out up the side. I know some other bikes have already copied it, or done something like it. (R6,GSXR600+750,the little Kawi Ninja) But these are the first of the 1000s to go that route of mass centralization. The articles I've read about these new bikes have all given props to Buell for this 'new' idea. |

Oooo... there it is. Nice job Bads1. I have a feeling the aftermarket is going to be busy selling new exhausts for that baby. Some of the folks on another website have already been using photoshop to get some ideas and they looked pretty racy. I can't wait to see it in person. Sweet, now I don't have to look at any new bikes that look like they have butt holes. I wasn't a fan of that undertail exhaust at all. Those bikes just don't look all that comfortable. --Sean |

Underslung muffler. Rim mounted zero torsional load pulley on the rear wheel. Belt drive (leather). The belt drive even has an idler (completely different function though). |

Exhaust under the bike has always made sense, when there is adequate ground clearance. |

Everyone on the Yamaha forums thinks the new CBR looks like a$$. There's just something, or many things about it that doesn't look right. |
