Measured on my crappy pocket 1/8" measuring tape, it comes out just shy of 1-7/8". Maybe 1-13/16"? (ish) |

Blake, sorry I totally forgot I was going to measure that for you! I just ran out to the garage - 2 inches exactly. Let me know if you order those mounts. I'm debating whether to order them or stick with the hose clamps that came with the Penske shock. Show us some pictures once you get your shock mounted! |

LOL Rat, we posted at almost the same time and came up with 2 different numbers! I used a tape measure and checked across the bottom of the reservoir where there is less obstruction. If I can dig up a ruler I will go get a "second opinion". |

Yah, I was across the bottom too. What version shock do you have? Mine's the 21-or-whatever position adjust. According to the manual...8660 series compression adjuster. Maybe we have different series cans? |

Actually yes, I have the mid-range Penske. It doesn't have both low and high speed adjustment like their top-of-the-line shock does, but it is a step above the base model. I'd have to find the receipt to find the exact model number. That makes me a little more leary about buying that mounting bracket if Penske reservoirs are actually different diameters. I'll try to find a ruler to double check my measurement. |

My 8900 (the mid-range damper) measures about 1 7/8" give or take a 16th. I used the stock reservoir clamp on my Penske shock and it fit perfectly. |

Ditto on the stock res clamp and super-sexy hose clamp. The stocker is rubber so it'll "mold" itself within 1/8" or so. |

I do have a caliper. I'll measure it after dinner. Lol, here I am trying to find a ruler and I have a caliper! |

Um, you won't believe this but somehow my caliper was misplaced. I measured it again carefully not using the END of the tape measure - using the middle - and I came up with 1-15/16". It could be 1-7/8, but it was hard for me to tell. Blake, I can try and dig around for my caliper tomorrow, but since it's ALWAYS in my toolbox I really haven't the foggiest where it could've gone. If I find it I'll measure and post right away. |
