I just passed 2500 miles and pulled out my service manual and can't find the 2500 mile service. Shouldn't there be an oil change at the minimum? I'm half tempted to go by the manual but when I think about it I guess a lot of vehicles have been doing every 5k for service, for years now. What did you all do? |

There is no 2500 mile service. If it makes you feel better, change the oil. |

Funny but I still change the oil in my cars every 2 to 3 k. I learned that from my dad, of course that was 30 years ago. I suppose I should move ahead with the times and follow the manual while it is under warranty. |

Fortunately, the lubricants of today are so far superior to those of 30 years ago. Doing so today is just wasteful, in most cases; motorcycles I do consider the exception. Especially air/oil cooled motorcycles. Bertotti Posted: I suppose I should move ahead with the times and follow the manual while it is under warranty. I agree with this as it relates to automobile service. However I change the oil in my Ulysses at 50% of recommended intervals, too. |
