Why are you getting out of it? You are going to miss it, but best wishes anyways. |

I will miss it, but I need the money to repair some major sheetrock water damage to my house. I am also going to try to find a nice BMW 650GS. I test drove one on Saturday and I really liked it. I love that Blast and have had numerous inquiries already from e-bay. If I don't sell it I keep it since it is so much fun to ride!

Irony . . I'm trying to sell a BMW F650 (4800 miles) and replace it with a Blast. Dealer is picking it up today to replace the radiator hose that ended my Saturday ride and do the full service . . . estimate $800. I NEED a Blast. |

That is really funny (not the radiator hose incident, but the selling the 650 thing). How old is your BMW? Didn't you own a blast at one time? |

The BMW is a 1999 with 4800 miles and the "Deluxe" package that was done that year with the full luggage (perhaps the best luggage in the business), heated grips (didn't just know I'd have them) and the metallic silver paint. I had it lowered for Vickie and although I ride it, it feels like a kids bike. I've never owned a BLAST although I was one of the factory test riding team so I spent a good deal of time chalking up miles, with my partner Gary Valine, during the time there were two configurations under consideration. The BLAST is arguably one of the best buys in the industry and, in my opinion, is well on it's way to joining the Kawasaki KLR650 as one of the bikes capable of existing pretty much unchanged for years while still fulfilling its role perfectly. Buell takes a big hit on the sale of each BLAST but the bike serves a strategic role. The BMW, with it's luggage, is too much for a 5'-0" 100# Vickie and with my NEARLY insatiable quest for a Ulysses, it would make sense to have the baggage on my bike and get her something like the BLAST which has proven to be perhaps the most reliable motorcycle in HISTORY. . . . they are absolutely bulletproof and easy to ride. Anyway . . . I've been bidding on a bunch of BLASTs on e-Bay and looking for a good deal on a 2006 or 2007. If I can't find it, it's only a small amount more to buy a brand spanking new one. Fun stuff. . . must resist.

I woke up this morning thinking WTF. Why am I selling the Blast, which is perfect, at this time and buying a BMW that will put me $8,000 in debt that I really don't need? I had not received any bids on the Blast on e-bay, but had 10 watchers, I think everyone was waiting to bid at the last minute. Anyway - I just withdrew it from ebay. I think this was triggered because I bought a new back tire for the Blast and need it mounted, but the person that I know that mounts it for free can't do it immediately and I did not want to pay the $150 to have it mounted, so I thought - shoot I will sell the bike and get a new one so I don't have to mess with the new tire. It is just the way I think sometimes. So no more panic! Yeah |
