What is the price of the extended warranty. Does it give you an extra 2 years on top of the standard 3 years of coverage? Anyone buy one of these and use it? Is it like computers in that if nothing goes wrong in the 1st two years it probably never will under normal use? |

My bike is a 2003 and it came with a factory extended warranty until 2009 (forgot the month) the guy who i bought it from bought it, when he bought the bike. (ahh tongue twister) but luckily no need for it yet. But i will admit it was a big plus when i was buying it. actually its one of the reasons i bought that bike. |

2003-2009. I bet if you blew the engine they would have to upgrade you. |

Not to hijack the thread, but is the standard warranty transferable? |

The Buell extended warranty were transferable for a small fee. I'm also interested in an extended warranty, how much? How long? Thanks Neil S. |

I would have to double check my paperwork to be pinpoint accurate, but I bought my '04 12S with a 3 year extended warranty, and I think it was in the ballpark of around $1400-$1600. All I have to pay is the $50 deductible and the rest is covered... except for the normal wear stuff. My starter almost fell off due to the bolts coming loose, and had a few large leaks due to that, so they replaced a crapload of gaskets too. The bill was a little over $300, but I only had to pay the $50. The cool thing is that when my dealership sent in all the warranty paperwork for Harley to cut them a check, they refunded my $50 too. So I had a credit on my account at the dealership. Can't beat that! |
