Thought maybe I would put this post in a better location. 527 miles on 08 Uly. Rode yesterday for about ten minutes and stopped for about five-10 minutes and bike has not started again. I do not hear that familiar whirr of the fuel pump. Fuse is OK. Any help or suggestions for a true wet behind the ear Buell rider. I live near Asheville and dealer is in Statesville and as always this has to be a Sunday. EMail is mail{JB2607@yahoo.com.,JB2607@yahoo.com... Thx JB (Message edited by jb2607 on September 09, 2007) |

I am sorry to hear about the problem. The last time I heard of someone having this problem it ended up being a connector that was over-crimped on the harness. What ever it is, it is covered under warranty, but my fear is the dealer. Cost of the part will be less than $5 if it is what I think it is, but it takes a lot of time to find which connector it is. The difficulty is that the problem is intermittent because of heat. As the bike warms up it will display the symptoms. Let the dealer let it sit over night and the bike will run fine. I know that Shelton's HD/Buell found the problem on the last Bueller that had this problem. His home dealer could not find the problem and he got pretty frustrated with the bike. Shelton's tech found the $1 connector and replaced it. The bike ran fine after that. Keep us informed on how it goes. The furthest west Shelton dealer is in Durham. |
