Does anyone do this for the XB12s? If people are starting to mess around with their fuel maps, it doesn't make sense unless they've got a wideband indicating lean/rich regions. |

There are other tools other than just wideband O2 to provide the necessary feedback, but your point is spot on. Tuning with a butt dyno is pointless and is a good way to ruin an engine. That said, there are some aspects of tuning that can be done effectively with the butt, the ears, and a brain (i.e., transient response, for example). But those changes are made AFTER the rest of the mapping has already been done the proper way. |

I suspect it wouldn't be very difficult to weld in a bung to accept an oxygen sensor and run the same old automotive datalogger. Speaking of dataloggers, do any exist for the Buells? Sorry, I'm new to Buells. |
