Geez Fuy, you forgot "Cyclone". Be bold. Crusader!
quote:The F-8 Crusader fighter jet was originally built by Vought Aircraft of Dallas, Texas. The F-8 Crusader was the last US fighter designed with guns as its primary weapon. The F-8A entered service in March of 1957.
Maybe a little late in service, but a darn good name with some good history. Tomohawk, Hammerhead, and Liberator are good too. But I'm campaigning for "Crusader." All the reble muslims will want one. Like Jap bikes, real crotch rockets don't need names. Their Company name speaks for itself." You mean like "Ninja" or "Fireblade"? I like good names. Good names help give the vehicle character. And they are so much easier to say. Compare the seven syllables of "eleven-twenty-five-arrr" (gotta use the pirate accent you know) to the melodic three of "Crusader"; no contest. |

Since it will scare the crap out of you when you crack open the throttle, how about the "SHARTER"?
Sandy Lyle: Reuben, I’m in a situation here. We have to leave now. Reuben Feffer: No. Can we stay a couple more minutes? Sandy Lyle: Dude, no. This is serious. I just sharted. Reuben Feffer: I don’t know what that means. Sandy Lyle: I tried to fart and a little shit came out. I just sharted. Now let’s go. Reuben Feffer: You’re the most disgusting person I’ve ever met in my life. |

hmmmmmmmm, someone suggested Warhawk, kind of cool keeping with the whole WWII aircraft thing, but how are those big, nasty P-40 shark mouths gonna look painted on those radiator scoops? (never mind, I still think that BMW should have called the K1200s "Stuka"....) |

I'm for a weather name, like Typhoon, or Vortex. Save Monsoon for the big touring model. In aircraft context, how about Cobra? The airscoops remind me of a cobra's hood. Cobra, Airacobra, Kingcobra all from Bell in Buffalo NY. Mjolnir is a great name, but no one can pronounce it. (Message edited by aesquire on July 15, 2007) |

The "Tomahawk" has my vote. The slogan would be "Split someone's wig, ride a Buell" |

With all these warbird names such as my "Cyclone", along with Lightning and Thunderbolt and in keeping with that theme and with its state of the art design and performance is there any question that this is a "Raptor". But do you really need a name if the performance speaks for itself? Hope to be flying one soon. |

If we can add helicopter names I'm voting for "Kiowa". It's a mobile radar platform of sorts that assists the Apache in targeting bad guys. It's also one of the most aerobatic rotary wing made (and "Commanche" just sounds dumb IMO).

It reminds me of a shark from certain angles... some are calling it Hammerhead. So, what about... FIRESHARK! |

Thinking of other names... Firestorm, but it sounds too much like Firestone. Skyfire, as it has an aircraft-sounding name, but it didn't seem right for a land-based vehicle. So, suddenly it came to me... Terrafire! 'Terra' as in land. Also, as in TERRIFIER (as to the competition!), get it? Hehe! FIRESHARK or TERRAFIRE, those are my submissions! |

Wasn't that an early Buell effort? i stand corrected.Gene Church rode "Lucifers Hammer" ( a H.O.G. sponsored bike) before switching to Buell in 1987. |

}Is there a motorcycle called the Wraith? I don't keep track of all the names. Confederate has a 'Wraith' motorcycle...although they're producing very little because they were based in New Orleans and their place got flooded...I can't remember where they rebuilt. |
