Ive seen a few chopped tails so far but nothing in great detail. Anyone have any detailed photos of this being done?
My thoughts are the shorter the better, but I want to keep the seat length so about 6 to 8 inches of plastic will get sliced off. This will require trimming the seat sub frame also. As well as tail light and lic plate relocating. |

From the looks of this picture they didn't cut much plastic, they just took the rear off! |

Well that picture is a bit deceiving. Im almost positive someone photoshopped it. The real frame doesnt curve like that one does. So its not real obvious where the frame stops if you were to achieve the same look. |

That looks sortof like what attempted (and failed) to do, i.e. photoshop the tail section from a lightning cg onto the blast. I also would want to shorten/narrow the rear, but feel like the pillion could be waaay shorter and smaller to allow for more cutting. (it probably wouldn't be very comfortable, but then, neither would a stock blast.) Do you think it would be possible to force a cg seat onto the blast and then cut everything around it? Failing that, is there a solo seat that fits the blast? (cuz im only gonna be riding 2-up once in a million rides) |

Welcome Joe! Corbin or Sargent will custom build you a seat to your liking. Theres a guy from Canada who chopped his tail and it came out looking quite good (see previous pictures). |

Gearheaderiko, or anyone else who looked at his link posted on march 28, at 1:41 am:: I am new to the Blast community and probably the only thing i dislike about the blast is the tail end. I was wondering what you did and how i could customize the tail of my buell to look like yours. Not shorten it, just get rid of the black plastic shit. Thanks for any feed back |

Welcome thumper62! All the black plastic just unbolts very easily and can be discarded. The license plate frame/holder can be trimmed down to minimal dimensions without being taken off. There is really nothing hard until you want to shorten the tail section. Then it takes much more work and a keen eye. |

That's the fun of modding your tail, you get to decide. Nearly every bob job on a Blast on this forum looks different. I made a sheet metal bracket to hold my taillight, turn signals and tag. Just bolted it to the frame. With tin snips and a Dremel, you can make your own. |
