The uk 2008 xb has been strangled somewhat with the introduction of new smaller diameter headers. ( euro regulations ).Can anyone tell me if the US 2008 new model xb' s have the same headers as previous years as i wish to change mine ?

According to Al at "AmericanSportBike.com", my US 08 XB12X Ulysses headers are the same as previous years (I bought his right-side air scoop). Please contact him to ask about part numbers and other models. Beyond that, Al is a great resource for anything related to your Buell bike -- his business is selling aftermarket parts and tools.

I suggest jet-hot.com coating the new headers. The stock finish tends to discolor. Al stocks and sells already-coated headers. The ceramic coating also provides thermal insulation, so your right leg gets cooked less, more heat gets blown out the tailpipe instead, and it is claimed that the increased temperature inside the headers helps the exhaust flow more easily, offering less resistance during the exhaust cycle of the engine cylinders.

Note that the labor (either yours or paid) is significant, as the engine needs to be turned in order to reach the rear header.

You might also wish to confirm that the flanges and gaskets will match.

I also recommend getting the muffler coated.
