Finally found my misplaced camera. Now I need to figure out how to reformat the photos so I can share some here. In the mean time I cropped this one from a couple weeks ago.

Here is my fist experiment at trying to reformat a photo. It is a photo of Ricochet and others fixing a broken clutch cable in the gas station parking lot in Speculator

I know this is Mothers Day weekend coming up, however I still plan on taking some kind of ride. Saturday 12 May the Erie Canal HOG Chapter is meeting at the Buffalo Head in Forestport for lunch at 1230. I have been a member of that group for many years although I seldom attend many functions. Last Fall I went on some of their breakfast runs and rode with them to tour the Xmas lights on the lake in Syracuse. It always amazes me when they want to know what kind of bike I am riding. When I say a Ulysses they get a blank look and want to know what that is. When I say a Buell they "heard of them". Those Harley Folks should know what our bikes are too. They took away our BRAG group and said we could join HOG instead. Most of the HOG folks have no idea about Buell riders or their machines. I think maybe we need to educate them. I have also been wanting to take a ride on the Number four road from Big Moose to near Lowville. So some kind of a ride including that road may be in my agenda also or instead. Anyone up for a ride in the Adirondacks? And/or may be work on ABCs of touring? If not Saturday, then may be Sunday? |

I was looking at my map and noticed that from Rome to the Ferry in Michigan via going thru Canada is a little over 600 miles, then an additional 50 or so to East Troy. I would think it may be a good idea for those CNY Buellers going to HomeComing to have several rides within the next couple of months, with bikes packed, of at least that kind of daily mileage. On a similar note, I usually try do at least several Iron Butt Association Saddle Sore 1000 rides each season. Would anyone else be interested? Last year amongst other rides I did an entirely within NY SS 1000. I used interstates for part of the ride and would like to do one entirely avoiding interstates. Anyone interested in doing that? They do not take to much time; Less than 24hrs! Actually, using interstates for at least part of the ride, only takes about 18 hrs using plenty of breaks. It may take a little longer primarily on two lanes. |

If my bike gets back from the shop (tomorrow or early Saturday morning) I might be in. Anyone remember up near the top of SR 10 a few weeks back when I kept looking down... Well, it turns out that the ringing bell I kept hearing, was actually the washer on my rear exhaust hangar as it backed out. On th tuesday after our ride, one of the header studs on the rear head snapped off And my baby's been in the shop ever since. I ordered one of those Drill guides from Al (man is that thing nice), but the easy out still snapped off. So off came the head, and now it's being put back on. In the end, I think I would have been better off trying to fix it myself (if only I had the time...). Anyway, the local shop assures me I'll have the bike back in time for the weekend, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm way behind on my ABC's So I've got a copy of Hog Tales all zip locked and in my back pack, just in case we come across any useful signs. Plus I'm just plain getting stir crazy being a cager during all this great weather. I have some time off in June, and would be totally in for an Iron Butt ride. Just say when Hope to see some of you this weekend! |

I am going to witness for an IBA (Iron Butt Association)member doing a Bun Burner Gold (1500 miles in under 24hrs) from Oklahoma City to Albany. He plans on leaving Oklahoma City at 0600 this Sunday and hopes to be in Albany early Monday morning. I will meet him at the Westmoreland Service Plaza on the Thruway and ride to Albany with him to sign his paperwork. Plans are for him to call in to me from various points to keep tabs on his progress and better set up when I need to be at the plaza to meet him. After this part of his ride and some rest, his goal is to ride to NJ then CT and the rest of New England so he can say he has rode his bike through all 48 lower states. Nice goal. One of the IBA Extreme rides is to visit all 48 in 10 days or less. How about a ride this weekend? Any takers? Which day would be best? I am going to ride somewhere, just haven't decided where, yet. |

Uylrover What days are good for you? Which Touratech bags do you have? Haven't had much luck getting anyone for a ride tomorrow (Saturday) so I will probably go to a controlled burn in the AM with the VFD I am a member of and a short putt in the PM to work on my HOG ABCs of touring. Sunday I would like to scout out some of the off interstate Saddle Sore Route I have been looking at. Refuel points need to be properly placed to document the route and to ensure no shortcuts or major roads can be used. If anyone is interested I will let them know of proposed iteinerary and maybe we could meet along the way. |

Trapper I have the 35 Liter bags on my bike. It will be sometime till I can run my Uly that long. I just had knee surgery 3 weeks ago and I am up to 110 miles riding till I have to get off the Buell.I probably can go a lot farther on my E Glide with its air ride police saddle. I might be able to run with you on sunday, if you do not mind me on my E Glide. Let me know |

Ricochet, Let me know when your spring time work will let you take a day or so and we'll squeeze in a SS. Uylrover, I do not mind the E Glide, however I am not against getting off every hundred miles while on a route scouting ride either. So, if you'd like to put some miles on the Uly please do. I would like to see the Touratech bags/mounts. What times are good for you to be gone riding on Sunday? Your profile says you live in Cazenivia and I am not sure where that is. Should it be Cazenovia? |

Uylrover, Can meet you in Cazenovia at 1 pm. Let me know where. Fpresky, If you can get away for the afternoon, we could depart the Citgo by Lowes 1200-1215 then ride down SR13 to Cazenovia if you'd like. There are a couple checkpoints I'd like to verify the suitability of for an all in NY off interstates SS, that are located in Cohocton, Geneva and Montour Falls. I also need to check the one at Cape Vincent, but that will probably be another day. If we can't get all of them that is okay too; its the ride not the destination that I enjoy most. |

Nice looking bike! I guess on trips it will be wear one set and wash out another as space may be a premium. Much like backpackers do it. Keeps things lite and better handling that way, I suppose. We had a good ride today and discovered some needed changes to the SS route I have been working on. It is almost ready to go for it. May be we can get several Buellers to do it. |

Frank, Hey! Bike looks good. We're staying at Four Points/Milwaukee airport Friday night..Matt's choice. I told you how to pack for 4 day ride with Firebolt bags...1 sneaker in each bag, split up socks and underwear. Wear the t-shirts you'll end up buying at dealers...jeans and rain gear go in tank/tail bag. That's it!! Racine is in between Uke's and the hotel, about a half hour between each. Should work out good. You can look at it on Google maps and put all three destinations in. |
