I will never forget my first ride on a Buell. It was July of 1999. I was curious to see one after reading an article in Hot Bike on the M2. I drove out to Boswell's HD at Rivergate in Goodletsville, TN and there she was...an Onyx Alloy S3T with charcoal frame and PM wheels. It was love at first site. I bought that bike and have loved it ever since. After trips to Key West, Daytona, Sturgis and many trips to the Smokey Mountains along with a number of trips to the track (including the first ever track day at Barber's a couple of years ago) this bike still makes me grin everytime I ride it. I thought I might buy one of the XB's but I wanted more performance. The 1125R appears to be the one. I believe this bike will be as good as it gets in the performance arena for the following REASON: Buell has purposely built this bike with power characteristics that have made all Buells fun to ride...tractability. This bikes dyno chart gets me very excited. Anytime you see a torque curve that flat with a linear hp curve that builds power like this bike does what you have is one of the most fun bikes you will ever ride. Instant throttle response with power that keeps going and going and going. This bike should be the absolute back road king for some time to come and should be a killer at your local track (not to mention that this bike will be a wheelie monster). The power characteristics of this bike interest me as much if not more than anything else. BRAVO Buell. I'll be at VIR in September. I spoke with Jimmy at Greensboro HD this morning and he believes the bike will be at VIR. If so, and I get to ride it and I like it then I'll be on the list for one. Can't wait for September. Hope to see a bunch of you "tubers" there. Ride safe, Frank 6154769100 |
