We've all seen in done but I'd rather not have to sink another $1k into a bike for all the new parts. It is GREAT that the Buell engineers made a platform that has interchangable components. Past that it is just smart, have customers customize their bikes with different combinations of OEM parts! Buell engineers, could you make an even simplier plug and play connection at the steering head for wiring?
WHAT IS WANTED: Sport touring for 2 up riding! There is a reason that BMW R1200RT are selling. I think there is a market. Don't make this bike just a S3T next generation bike, but something more, like the Uly is. |

Got to talk to Bud a bit before Homecoming. His ride is actually a '04 Black/Amber XB12S with a SuperTT seat/stanchion and some of the Uly parts off of Steve's bike. Wish I had a picture of it. Later, EV |

Might look something like this, I met Bud last year, great guy. We bounced a couple of Ideas off of each other. He helped me to get my orange dash face signed by Erik and a factory tour. If you're on that side of the rockies and need a bike, he and Hals are worth the commute.

Bud had to do some slick engineering to get the Uly parts to fit. I'd definately talk to him before trying anything. You'd think the parts would just bolt on, but I heard from him that this wasn't the case. |

Brian, you need to come to Homecoming '08! T9R, with the response I got from all the Buell employees, I could certainly see a Sport Touring Buell in the future roll out of the factory. It did get the wheels turning in Erik's head during a break at the Boiler Room. Talking about another $250K for tooling for a bit larger fairing, etc.. |

The only way that will happen is if I am at a dealer that is with in striking distance to get there. My dealer isnt going to let off the floor that time of year, it is our time to sell the heck out of bikes. It would take me 3 days to get there, the party and three days back home, not going to happen in the first week of JULY Maybe we could get corporate to do some west coast events, other than the races down Cali |

Brian, just fly out, ride my S3T for the event, and fly home |

That would make it more doable. Thanks for the offer. It is on my list of must do things for next year. Bad thing about riding the S3T is that I am sure I would fall in love with it, and they are not building that bike anymore |

Well, you've got about 11 months to plan for it. By that time, I'll have some issues sorted out with the S3T(Needs steering head bearings, and front wheel bearings, and a set of tires.). Consider it yours for the week of homecoming. And I'm sure between Bud and I, we could find you a place to crash as well. |

Warning, you don't want to take Steve up on this if you're dead set on having no fun at homecoming. He and Toni have really been great hosts the last two homecomings. I'm hooked! |

Steve, I want to see how the 1125R fairing would mate up to the XB12X body and look. That would provide more wind coverage on airflow and be less retooling cost. |
