I've been reading the suspension thread and brake threads. I have noticed that the dive on my front end seems more then it used to. I know I am probably using the brakes harder then I used to, no stoppies though. I also noticed that when my bags are loaded with groceries the seat height is much more to my liking. The extra 1/2 inch or so seems to make a big difference. Anyway I am assuming that I should adjust the suspension for the increased front end dive. My question after this lengthy dissertation is, how does the suspension set up affect the handling of the bike, IS too much dive a real problem is to much rebound going to cause wrecks? I know what the manual says to set it to but what are the consequences of setting it different? |

I had the diving problem when I got my 06 last year. I firmed up the front and rear suspension. Diving is almost non existent now. It also corners quicker. I read several peoples comments about how firming up the suspension really changed their bike for the better. I did keep the front and rear in the same range per the manual. I believe I heard that getting the front too far out of adjustment range with the rear can cause some handling issues. |
