I'll reserve judgment on the side scoops till I can walk around it. I've always had mixed feelings about the look of the M2's tail plastic. Loved it from some angles, not so much from others. I liked the X1's tail better. The Gas tanks, now, M2 I thought better hands down. Breadbox is function over form, It could be another shape, and I've replaced mine with the Carbon race ham can. The breadbox is better for ergo's, I hit the carbon can under hard braking, if I forget to brace myself. Fashion is Passion. I like the Fairing on the 1125r, it shows me that Buell could make a Sport tour model if they thought we'd buy it. I would. |

How many of you "functional" guys really LIKED the X1's (or any other model's) 'breadbox' air cleaner? They worked pretty well, according to Buell. Still ugly as sin, or sinfully ugly, whichever. I take offense to that comment as a guy who's more into function over fashion and also as a guy who went out of his way to source a new X1 "Breadbox" after scuffing the old one. That hurt... I love the plastic on the new bike.It ain't Carbon Fiber, but also doesn't cost like it. |

some people cant really afford to start tearing apart a 12,000 $$$$ motorcycle the day they buy it just to make not so ugly...for some buying a bike is as much a visceral expirience as it is a function thing....yes i want my bike to perform as adevertised....and yes i want it to look like its going to eat small children while it sitting in the driveway....i bought my bolt because it looked mean and was different...i shied away from the 1125R because i cant afford to tear apart a brand new bike and have the frame and swingarm powdercoated and i cant afford to buy new rad pods right away....i felt like buell built the firebolt just for me....not so much with the 1125...just my opinion...there are many that love it and many that can afford to make it what they want right away...hey im glad i hope buell hits a huge out of the park homer with this bad boy....i still have big soft spot for buell...i spent my money elsewhere but thats just me ...im sure il be back soon... |

To say if you criticize the Buell you may not buy it may be true. I work in Marketing and thats a given that looks count. Most people do not buy things they aren't attracted too. Same thing when you selected a spouse. The fat ones are functional too, could be the best wife of all but will get walked on by most. People do look at aesthetics. Sorry, reality check. I have had Four Buells all with high miles. So to say if your not doing backflips over the new design means you are not a serious buyer is crap also. I ride 40,000 street miles a year spread over many bikes. I told my local dealer I was first inline before it was even introduced Offered a down payment but they said na, your all good your a great customer your first in line. Well, the looks terrify me. The specs are a wet dream come true for me. But to be honest I don't know if I will take delivery or not. Looking at pictures I would say No way will I buy it. I will wait till I see it in person. I just wanted to remind everyone who is trying to simply categorize everyone into two neet little camps of loyal and haters, its not that simple, believe me. I want to love EVERYTHING about this bike. (Message edited by brad1445 on July 15, 2007) |

Guys you really do have to see it. Those straight on side fews are perhaps the worst angle to view the bike from. It looks cool but different. And different if it works is pretty much a Buell trademark. |

i personaly cant wait to sit on one and see what the differences really are between it and my new cbr....its funny u dont really notice the small things buell does so well until u sit back and think about it and have a good bike to compare it with....buell seems to do the little important things way better than most others....the quality is more underlying than bam right in ur face....if i could fit that rotax motor into my 9R frame that would be the perfect bike for me...not for everybody but for me that would be the cats meow....simple, mean, and fast....a true streetfighter...that thing looks like and bimota and a beemer had a one night stand....maybe a three way with a little gixxer thrown in. |

Bikes are like cars. The ones you like are the ones you should consider buying. If aesthetics and performance figures aren't to your liking, you have some choices: I. Don't buy it. II. Buy it and modify it to your liking. III. Buy something you like better. IV. Do none of the above and whine a lot. Lots of folks out there would complain about the looks of this, but, if you think you really need 1,000 HP in a production car, I haven't seen any other choices out there. G |

This whole thread is a waste. If you haven't seen it IN PERSON you don't have a clue as to how great it looks. |

oh my bad i cant see the one brad has for some reason so i was talking about the one you put on there. you know some people dont like the look of the new bike although I personally do how ever there are some of the tubers and one xb that i think are ugly but that does not make me hate buell or anything like that. I mean (no offence to the m2 guys) But i think the m2 looks like a cheap version of the s1 only with a big Butt. The only thing i like about that one is the smaller fairing. And I think the x1 (also no offence to the x1 riders) is no were near as sexy as the S1. And I think the messed up the Thunderbolt when they came out with the s3 Because i like the way the S2's body flowed togeather, it looked so much nicer. and the rs that had the pop up back seat i think they totaly missed something there. Oh and lastly the xb12x's those are just scary (in a bad way) to me. Once again no offence to any of the riders of those bikes, I think they are all great bikes in there time or for what they are but they are not to my likeing however this one is very much to my likeing. |

only on bad web would the family truckster pic follow in line behind the new model pic. and in odd stream of consciousness and too much caffine it all makes sence. |

that Bugatti has a 72 degree engine BTW... I've spent a few hours over the last couple days trying to figure out exactly why 72 degrees was the choice. So far it seems that packaging is the main concern but I'd love to be corrected by an annony... |
