Not to add fuel to the rumor mill, speculations etc., but I just noticed something in another thread. A discussion about belts/chains etc was started and the following pic posted.  If you look at that kickstand it is straight off a Ducati. Well it looks like the exact same kickstand on my friends '06 749 Dark. So, is HD buying Ducati? or just getting the new 1125R kickstands from the same supplier as Ducati? | ||

Maybe that is the way the rumor was originally started. Buell ordered X number of Ducati kickstands and some thought that meant more than it did. Just a thought.  | ||

Close but no cigar...  That is the side stand from a 2006 Ducati 749 Dark. | ||

My Cyclone tail light lens is the same as Ducati Monster lens! Maybe they've been thinking about buying Ducati for 10 years! Or maybe they just borrow some small parts to keep costs as low as possible. | ||

Ah.. thanks. Have to admit though they are both a little goofy looking. Almost like part of one of those cheap aluminum anchors. |
