I posted this on the Knowledge Vault, but I think I might get a faster answer here from all you good people.

I trying to remove my stock header pipe on my uly and having a bit of trouble. The darn thing is like a big spring clip. Is there a method to pry this thing off? Looking at it, it appears that the back cylinder should come off first?
Help!

Did you rotate the engine?

If you did it properly it comes off rather easy.

Yes, I did all that. All the nuts are off along with with the O2 sensor. Maybe I'm trying to be too gentle with it, but being one piece and hooked to opposite sides of the engine, it's just hard to pull off.
Does one have to pry then off against the cylinder fins?
Which end comes off first and is the easiest?
Any help would be great!

If the flanges have been pulled back from the studs, the pipe should almost fall out. When I was much younger, it amazed me that header pipes even stayed on, considering how they are mounted.

I guess this is a weird one.
It must have shrunk or move towards the opposite side with the first few heat cycles. I have experience with 4160 cm welded in jigs then have a little variance after heated but not quite as much as this assembly.
I ordered this Micron System just before I saw the all the improvements made to the Uly for 08 so I didn't want to damage it for the next Uly.

So no worries, I used a little of the "bosh" technique and finally pried them off.
Thanks all.
