Wiseco's work but they are only available in the stock compression ratio. NRHS Performance has a good selection of forged Thunderstorm pistons, too. |

The only thing is... Make sure you get slugs for a thunderstorm motor... that, and the right bore, are all that will essentially matter. The Lightning(S1, 98S3) pistons will work, BUT, the 10* pistons wont match your 15* degree heads. Will it run? Yes, BUT, your quench wont be optimal... or even close for that matter. Personally, I am running the NRHS 1250 kit, and I am EXTREMELY happy with the quality of the materials... Chase |

Chase, that's a very clean, minimalistic X1 you have there. Very well executed...except for the goofy bar-ends! That is a good point you bring up that is well explained here. |

I bring it only, as I found when I tore the engine apart easrlier this year, that, the motor was torn apart before, with some .005 over slugs.. with a 10* dome. kinda funny....but, no worries... Thanks... And the bar ends were something I made one night while a little ... buzzed and bored.. Chase |
