I'm 5'8" The extra inch of the cityX is just too much for me. I can stand it up with both feet on the ground, but it's my toes only. If it was just 1-2 inches shorter, it would be perfect. Is there a low profile seat? |

There is a low seat available. It's about an inch lower than the standard seat. Lower still I imagine than the CityX seat. Another option (though pricey) is to replace the lower triple, forks, rear shock and kick stand with that of a 12Scg as the suspension is .8" lower than the standard. I found the low seat to feel somewhat like a board after about a 100 miles so I got a 12Scg and put a Select seat on it. I'm 5'8 with the boots on and I wear pants with a 32" inseam and the low bike with Select seat fits me perfectly. If I didn't have to make stops on hills (sideways) I wouldn't care if my feet touched flat or not but theres been four times in the last two years (almost two years) that I've been grateful for it. |

replacing parts from a cg is almost pointless. This is very important, because i cannot ride without dropping it about an inch. The description just says it's contoured lower, is it really 1"? http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/Produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=2&CategoryID=3&Produ ctID=3142 |

Compared to the CityX seat (the tallest of the S seats) I'd say yes. I can show you how it compares to the Select seat which is a little lower than the CityX seat.

The pic you just posted on the bed of the WAY COOL FLATBED, is the CG seat on the left, and the Select seat on the right, correct? On my City-X with the Select seat, I can almost flatfoot it, my heels are just barely off the ground, very comfortable footing. I'm 5' 11" 34" inseam. I'd borrow/testfit a friends seat. The CG would be great for you I'd think, Select seat may be just a tad tall for ya. Talk to your local dealer(s), see if they will let you test fit a seat and exchange it if it doeasn't work. I have the same problem. Will the CG seat fit on an 05 city x? Is it lower than the Low seat? |

The CG seat is the low seat. In 03 & 04 it was called the low seat because it was stock on the lowered 9S called the 9SL (low). In 05 they offered a lowered 12 instead & changed the name to SCG (low center of gravity) so the seat became known as the CG seat. It will fit all standard (not the Ss, nor the STT) XB lightning models from 03 to present. |

Low, Regular height, and CityX seat are built on the same seatbase, so mounting hardware is identical for easy swaps with the XB-S bikes (not the Ss Longs, Uly, SuperTT). My XB was originally a Low (cg seat), rebuilt as regular height suspension. Now interchange between CityX seat and regular seat, depending on conditions. Comparison pic: regular height versus CityX. The Low is about an inch lower than regular seat, as advertised... checked before trading the Low seat for the CityX "Skyline" Super Plush perch!
