Fantastic. Its like the weight of the world has been taken off you shoulders, isn't it. Now you know and the unpleasantness and recovery time will feel well worth it. Just take it easy the next couple of days and before you know it, its just another story you can tell. |

Oldog - that's great news! Take care of yourself and we'll get together soon and ride. Maybe Carlos will have a bike together by then! X1glider - best of luck on your test results. |

Hi all Thanks for the good wishes,All that perfectly good worrying gone to waste. I was happy to waste it Course, maybe that was meant to get your attention. I believe Thats an accurate statement. Curious about your trim. But not that much. Rotza, yeah thats a horrible trim, and the nurse managed to find a couple of hairs to stick the tape to I am much better and relieved, Ferris I will check the E-mail Box for the PM in a few, A data point the new improved tapes seem to wanna take the hide with the hair, and lighterfluid is a bit strong for some places, shampoo works good getting the tape off, the sticky can be rendered in-op with powder says Brenda, ( my good friend and care giver..) Glider: After Re reading your post, Only thing I found out that day is I occasionally stop breathing and my heart rate will vary between 40-65 bpm. Have you been tested for sleep apnea? while weight is a factor it is not the sole denominator, Apnea can reak havoc with your general health if un treated.[ I have it and am managing it] My dad had it and refused to see a doctor, the last year of his life was bad, He could sit down and get quiet and be sleeping in 2 minutes, but as with sitting up he was not resting well, you may or may not have it but it is worth discussing with your doctor. Loud heavy snoring, extreme tiredness, quick to fall asleep in the day time are common indicators. I will be saying prayers for you good test results .. |

Thanks for the concerns everyone. I wasn't trying to hijack Oldog's thread, mainly trying to say it doesn't matter if you're young or old, but I go back for the results on Monday the 2nd. I'm going to get them to set me up for a sleep study. I've always woke up every 45 minutes to an hour every night since I was a kid, so I may have had apnea my whole life. If we find it, I'm not sure what you do about it. I've spent a lot of money on a great bed and special pillows. No avail. I've found I sleep the best when I take the bike on a trip and ride 16 hours a day then crash in a cheap motel with the crappiest worn out bed. Works for me but I doubt the wife would go for me buying a used and abused motel bed. Who knows what's been done on it and by who? hehe I do need to drop some weight. Hard when your better half is a damn fine cook. Desk jobs are slow death too. The weight set is next to all the bikes in the garage and I just bought a portable roll around A/C unit so I can tolerate being in there. Been set up like that for a year but I seem to always be working on bikes, mine and everyone elses, rather than on my body. And I have a new one that I'm tearing apart right now. It never ends. Good intentions... |

X1glider, One of my best friends has sleep apnea. They put him on this respirator deal; it's basically a fan with a hose and a nose piece. It slightly pressurizes the air which evidently keeps the nasal passages open letting him breath much better when he sleeps. I imagine it's a PITA to get used to, but he seems like it's not a big deal now. On the exercise and eating angle, sometimes little steps help a lot. Get into a routine of walking with your wife for an hour after work, something like that. If she's a really good cook, get her to learn to cook lower fat/lower cal stuff that you like to eat. Whole grains, fruits, vegetables, chicken, fish, etc. It's an adjustment but it doesn't have to be a "diet". |

No issue at all, Glad that you chimed in, }I imagine it's a PITA to get used to, but he seems like it's not a big deal now }It was not to bad to get used to getting rested is sooooo much better If you get the C-pap it wont take long to adjust, they put me on one for the Decant test, (find your pressure) and at 5:30 AM I bounced out of that bed like a super ball and had energy to burn for 2 days! Please keep us posted on your tests I er We will keep praying for you.. } |
