I own an 05XB12S I am about to get by Buell tested for remissions in Japan. I have a stock Japanese pipe, and Ecm a friend is going to loan me. This test is going to cost about 1500$. I was wondering Is there any tips I can do to make sure it passes? Or run the cleanest possible? I dont want to fail$$$ I was thinking. Fresh High octane (93) gas. Fresh plugs. Stock filter or would a k& N work better? Should I put the K&N in th ebike to make it run a little lean for the test? Would that clean it up a little? Anyone got any suggestions I can do to make this bike run as clean as possible the first time? I open for anything. Thanks |

Make sure it is fully warmed up. Also, hopefully it is tested in the closed loop range, which I believe is under 4,000 rpm and above idle. |

unless somthing is wrong with it there should be no reason it would not pass... buell built the bike to pass emissions. |

Should I put the K&N in th ebike to make it run a little lean for the test? Would that clean it up a little? That's what I was thinking. You probably want it running lean for the test. I'm just assuming this though. |

Clean oil/filter.Leave the rest stock as that was the way it passed at factory. |

But if I remember correctly his bike is an American model and he's trying to get it to pass Japan's emissions test. |

07xb12scg Thats right its an american model. But I have the Japanese Pipe and ECM to use temporarily for the test....After that it back to the Drummer and race ECM...haha!! Thanks for the ideas..I am still wondering about leaning her out a little for the test though..I wish we had an exhaust/emsiions guru around here. |

is it a dyno emissions test or just a exhaust sniffer test. the K&N would no lean out the mixture in the normal operating range and I dont think they are going to rev it to redline |

You do not want to lean it out, you will increase Nox if it is under load/ ie: Dyno testing. Just keep it factory. |

I have no idea what they do in Japan. Keep it as factory as you can. If it's US spec they can tell that from the VIN, so good luck. I don't think from what I have seen Japan has as strict emissions requirements as the USA, specifically the republic of Kalafornia. |
