I just got the July 2007 issue of Motorcycle Consumer News. After reading the 08 KLR Review and the article on Buell Track days, I was reading the cartoon on the back and noticed in Next Month claims of "MCN Exclusive! Buell's '08 Ulysses". Anyone have any gossip on the new model or am I stuck waiting until next month? |

There is a thread in the Xboard about this, i only read the first few posts, looks like another Little Bird Express thread. |

Thanks, I always forget to check there.. Looks like a few weeks of speculation before the 08 Uly comes out. |

I liked the comment "of the 100 or so motorcycles out there that day, the truth is no bike cornered quicker". (2007 XB12SS) What's different about the 2008 Uly? Was talking to a Buell salesman the other day and he did the old wink-wink-look around to see if anyone was listening and told me Buell was coming out with a 160hp water-cooled hyper sport bike. Rumors...... |

For those wanting the V-rod engine in their Buell just look at the new Roehr. I think I spelled that right. It's a crotch rocket with a V-rod engine. Looks good in pictures |

I think this bike has an engine that would make Buell riders happy. Good fuel economy, monster torque, and I don't think you'd have to worry about pinging. http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2005/02/25/thund er-star-1200-diesel-by-star-twin/ |

Yeah, but I'd have to smell your french fry reakin' butt all over the place. Besides, you'd just dump the Liberty and pull your trailer with the bike. |

Ok, I got the August 2007 issue today, less than two weeks later, WTF mailman? No 2008 Uly exclusive, it's listed on the next month section again. They did do a long term wrap up on their 2006 Uly test bike. Seems like they had some bad luck, with two sidestand failures (one post recall), numerous fasteners vibed loose, BAS issues (pre-recall), muffler solenoid glitch, and the exhaust flange fell off and then broke a stud after new nuts were put on. All of this over a 17,700 mile period. Needless to say the review was mixed, with MCN outlining the numerous strengths, but faulting the engine's tendency to shake stuff loose, bringing to question its reliability as an adventure bike. Maybe I've just been lucky (knock on wood), but I just passed 10K with mine, with no issues aside from the recalls and some peeling frame decals. |
